There is a campaign out there urging folks to block me on twitter. Jabba The Hutt started it. He said that anyone following me would no longer receive ramptastic and occassionally true tweets from the great David Lenigas as he would block them. But now a swathe of morons are urging folks to block me...

And now I have stacks of fake twitter followers too – I was “gifted” 5,000 overnight

Following our revelations about fake twitter followers at Lenigas Cuba last week, I now appear to have a mass of fake followers too @tomwinnifrith. Someone – as part of a smear I suspect – gifted me 5,400 new utterly bogus followers overnight.

Let me explain.

Blocking someone on twitter is NOT free speech denial

Anyone can set up a twitter account in minutes. And once on twitter you can shout out to the world what you want. Of course if you call a Police Horse gay, tweet a burning poppy or insult David Cameron the Old Bill might feel your collar if you happen to live in Airstrip One. But if your sole purpose is to insult non-celebs (i.e. Tom Winnifrith, rather than Tom Daley) you can tweet pretty much what you please.

And so it should be. I support free speech to the hilt. Some of the interventions by the Old Bill are disgraceful, a matter I have highlighted here before.

But free speech does not mean that I have to read what folks tweet.

ValiRX – it will be different this time! Oh no it won’t Mr Bulletin Board Moron

You see my problem is that I just do not understand the exciting technology. That is what the ValiRx (VAL) experts say, well by experts I mean Bulletin Board Morons. We have been here before. Do you remember Monitise?

My thesis with Monitise was that I had looked at the numbers and it was abundantly clear that the valuation was bonkers and that cash would be an issue so I said sell at 50p so repeating my sell at 70p. The shares are now 29p (and are still way overvalued). But apparently I just did not understand the “new paradigm” and so on twitter a fellow called Share Tipster (@2years2go) stated:

Whatever. So far I chalk that up as 1 nil to the dull number cruncher versus those who “really understand the technology”. I admit that I am no expert on what Monitise does but I can read a balance sheet and a cashflow statement.

Monitise - Visa is walking, shares crash, and another win for the Sheriff

Okay its time for the Bulletin Board Morons to apologise to me YET AGAIN – today’s victory is Monitise (MONI), shares in which have crashed to 31p as Visa has said that it wants out. My 10p target price stands.

I told you to sell at 50p on 29^th August 2014 with a 10p target HERE

More than 4,000 twitter followers

I guess I still have a long way to go before I catch up with Stephen Fry or vain businessmen who buy in stacks of twitter followers. But I inched passed 4,000 followers this week. I reckon that all twitter statistics are bogus.

I am sure that many of those who are follow me do not read a single tweet I send. A stack are bound to be bots or spammers. But it does seem that quite a few people are following me as I tweet the odd interesting thing. I gather I am the 1,533,109^th most followed person on this planet!

Anyway 4,000 passed this week @tomwinnifrith ( with a followed/follower ratio of 5.98 which I gather is good)  and meanwhile I see that @shareprophets which follows no-one at all is now up at almost 1200 after just eight months. That is almost more impressive.
