Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Dan Wilkinson from Haworth wants to beat up a much older man, that is to say me

Strapping Dan from Haworth has a sweet looking Mrs. Does she know what an online thug he is as you can see in the tweet below? In today’s podcast I discuss Avacta (AVCT), Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT), Dialight (DIA), Tingo (US:TIO) and S4 Capital (SFOR) run by the pompous arse Sir Martin Sorrell.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast; My top 10 mid cap shorts in this crazy, crazy world

We live in a mad, mad world and I cite four examples of this: the banning of the original US flag by Nike 48 hours ahead of July 4, illiterate Zak Mir going into PR, the PI love-in on Bulletin Boards with utterly worthless Premier African Minerals (PREM) and the IPO of Funding Circle (FCH). I look at Dialight (DIA), and Fastjet (FJET) and then list my top ten shorts worth more than £250 million (with two slightly smaller cheats included) and explain the bear case for each.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Yet another bad day at the office for Neil "Nomates" Woodford

Another bad day at the office for Britain's most conceited fund manager Neil "nomates" Woodford. There is yet more bad news at Vernalis (VER) now 9p having collapsed again - Nomates has been a big cheerleader after all prior disasters saying Mr Market is wrong. Whatever. Then there is the issue of IP Group ( IPO).  Elsewhere I takje another look at IDOX (IDOX) where I am even more bearish and then at Tungsten (TUNG) which looks all wrong. I also comment on Dialight (DIA) , The People's Operator (TPOP), On Line (ONL), Milestone Group (MSG) and a chat with Mark Slater on a pub company which is just the wrong price.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: shocking reward for failure, the Lombard salary comparability review

Following on from today's truly shocking results from Lombard Risk (LRM) covered HERE I have more questions for the company not least on how secure is its overdraft on which it is, I suspect, already reliant and on the quite disgraceful salary compatibility review. Talk about rewards for failure. Then I look at Defenx (DFX), another horror story, before issuing a wake up call to our own in house Bulletin Board Moron Wildes and looking at Angus Energy (ANGS) and finally Dialight (DIA). Meanwhile it is now less than a month to the olive harvest and Greece. I cannot wait.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 27 October: Is InternetQ another Globo? Chemring, Dialight & More

A busy day with my daughter beckons. In the evening it is the new James Bond film. But first a lunchtime bootcamp with Uncle Chris (Booker) to put her straight on the Evil Empire, the EU. In the podcast I ask if InternetQ (INTQ) is the new Globo (GBO)? Then I look at Chemring (CHG), Dialight (DIA) - another win for the bears - Afren (AFR) gets a mention as does LGO Energy (LGO), BP (BP.), Union Jack Oil & Gas (UJO) and - just to niggle Wildes - Premaitha (NIPT) whose shares are moving ahead nicely - more to go there!

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - 10 June

Just a short bearcast as a lunch with Nigel Wray beckons. Naturally it is at Free Speech & Liberty pizza. On the agenda today UK Oil & Gas (after a scoop earlier prompts a statement which is er, not 100% accurate) and Dialight. Warning: podcast may contain some bad language.

Dialight Trading Statement – Evil Knievil delighted: it ain’t good

Bear raider Evil Knievil started shorting LED Company Dialight (DIA) at 1200p three weeks ago and I wrote at the time that I agreed 100% with his analysis. The stock has opened down 33p at 1033p today after a less than impressive trading statement. Evil says he is “delighted”. We both expect the shares to slump to 600p in due course. Here’s why.

Evil Knievil: Horsey Triumphs, Avanti and Dialight

Infamous bear raider Evil Knievil is keen that all should know that he made £134,000 over the weekend from horse racing. But how to double up on the market? Evil admits that may be harder. However his two big short positions remain intact.

Evil Knievil expects Dialight shares to halve and I agree. Here's why

Bear raider Evil Knievil and I have had a long chat this morning about Dialight (DIA) of which he is short. The core analysis here comes from Matt Earl – the nemesis of Avanti (AVN) who has got to be the UK’s top forensic analyst and has just signed up to the UK Investor show as a star speaker.

Guest Post: Steve Moore on Dialight

Steve Moore and I worked together at t1ps.com from the day he left University. He is a very talented young analyst and a man of utter principle which is why he quit t1ps. He is now working with my on my Nifty Fifty website but also writing off his own bat and I am keen to support that. Apart from anything else he talks a lot of sense. As such I bring you his analysis of Dialight. Steve writes...

Dialight plc (DIA), a FTSE 250 constituent focused on solid state lighting technology for industrial application, traffic and obstruction signals and components for status indication and residual disconnect components for automotive and niche industrial application, last week announced results for the 2012 calendar year. These have helped the shares – up from only just over 100p late 2008 lows – further higher; from a 1,165p close prior to the results announcement to a current 1,300p. Capitalising the company at approaching £418 million, the following reviews the results and the value on offer here
