On the steps of the Supreme Court yesterday Brexit opposing Gina Miller gushed about how she had shown that we the citizenry can hold Government to account by using the courts. Really Gina? How much was your bill with top law firm Mishcon de Reya?
The reality is that about 0.5% of the population (including Gina and her oafish husband, the fund manager Alan) can afford to write a cheque for half a million quid and really not panic even if they lose. So what Gina really means is:
"A few members of the financial elite can afford to challenge in the Courts the way that other members of the establishment interpret the law - 99.5% of us just have to lump it and sod off".
Off course most of those 99.5% voted in the EU referendum a different way to Mrs Miller and her rich chums. But since they do not have enough money to "play the game" their views do not count anyway. Down at Animal Farm Mrs Miller was again addressing the people via a sycophantic BBC interview:
"Do not imagine, comrades, that leadership is a pleasure. On the contrary, it is a deep and heavy responsibility. No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?"
And please remember when it comes to using the Courts to combat the Government:
"All Animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
