USA Today loves the movie Dunkirk and gives it a rave review. Its only caveat is that "the fact that there are only a couple of women and no lead actors of color may rub some the wrong way." Saints preserve us.
The film is meant to be, and indeed is, historically accurate. Back in 1940 there were very few people of colour in the UK and there is therefore no evidence at all that any of them played any lead part or indeed any part in the evacuation of the BEF from France. And there is also no evidence of women being involved. This operation was men only.
Oddly there were no black folks or women involved in the battle of Hastings or Waterloo either. The idea that a historical drama has to be made factually inaccurate to big up the equality agenda is one that you could only find in the degenerate liberal media. Step forward USA Today.
