Melania Trump is a woman who, fluently, speaks five languages more than most of the liberals from the English-speaking world who abuse her. Because of who she is married to, it is, apparently, acceptable to racially abuse her. Take actor Tim Matheson. Now that I have googled him, I do know who he is but all that you need to know is that he is just your normal common or garden Hollywood liberal millionaire celeb.
His tweet below has now been deleted and he has apologised, saying “This morning I made a hasty and stupid joke about the former First Lady. It wasn’t funny, and it was in poor taste. It was regretful and humorless and I apologize.” No Tim, it was not only not funny but it was racist.
Tim will suffer no career damage. The twitter pile on from the left has been not to condemn him for the original tweet but for deleting it; it is a joyous libfest of hatred for Melania and love for Jill Biden.
I ask you to imagine what would have happened to a conservative actor, there are a few who have yet to be purged, who had wisecracked about how the wife of a Democrat born outside America could not speak English properly, although of course Melania does. Mrs Trump has a strong accent but her command of English is a lot better than many folks actually born in America.
You know the answer to the fate of this hypothetical conservative actor. He or she would have been accused of racism and his or her career would have gone down the pan faster than you can say “the New Mccarthysim”. The “sin” would not have been the words but the beliefs of the actor who had used them. The words would have been used as the club with which to bash the actor and destroy his or her career. For Tim there will be no such comeback. If anything, his stature among fellow celebs will be enhanced, his “bravery” in challenging the Trumps respected.
The argument the left uses is that Trump is such a fascist, for liberals are happy to trivialise the deaths of millions of folks killed by real fascists with such loose language, that any words used to attack him, or as a proxy his family, are justified. Thus racially abusing Mrs Trump is fighting fascism.
George Orwell would be proud of folks like Tim Matheson. His acting career may be waning but he could always do good work at the Ministry of Truth.
