Responding to a Jew Hating Ignoramus

I wrote a piece the other day about the rise of Islamofascist regimes in the Middle East ( you know the sort: want to drive the Jews into the Sea, hang homosexuals, ban free speech, imprison and kill those who express dissent, etc) and what it meant for, among other things, the oil price. You can read it HERE – its exact content is irrelevant, you get my drift already. I am amazed that there was a comment posted in response which has made me so angry that it merits a full reply. My anger is only increased by my visit today to the Synagogue in Corfu which I shall write about tomorrow. So here is the post from a Mr Chris Fox and below is my response.

What about the Grade A western fascists….why don’t you look in the mirror instead of pointing the finger at other cultures you know precious little about expect what you are fed through mainstream media…..people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones but then why should I expect an ignorant arrogant numpty like you to understand anything so irrelevant as the truth!!! Have your opinions but keep them to yourself, they’re offensive to anyone who knows anything about the injustice perpetrated by Israel in Palestine and America more generally in the Middle East.

I write extensively about how our civil liberties are eroded in the West and also about the folly of an interventionist foreign policy. I loathe any fascist tendencies wherever they exist. One fascist tendency you appear to support is the curb on free speech. Instead of just saying you will not read my opinion you wish my opinion not to be heard at all. Is that because you are on all matters an authoritarian or because it is simply that on this matter, you are a Jew hating bigot?

But this article was about the ME and so I discuss regimes there & it would not be the correct forum to discuss, for instance, the evils of the Patriot Act. Are you too stupid to understand that point or were you too busy frothing about a global conspiracy by men with hooked noses to care?

Regimes that espouse genocide for Jews, hanging gays, stoning adulterers and the imprisonment and execution of those of alternative religions or who hold dissenting views are fascist and since they do it in the name of Islam ( I think taking Islam’s name in error) they are Islamofascist. What is your problem with that contention or are you still frothing as you concern yourself with how I must have been paid by Mossad or a cabal of evil Jewish bankers to write this piece?

You talk about the injustice perpetrated by Israel in Palestine and America, I presume that you do not mean that the wicked Israelis have also annexed Vermont on the quiet and instead mean that America has collaborated with the Israelis. Of course. Israel is a state established under UN Mandates of 1947, do you think it has a right to exist or not? That the Soviet bloc and then after 1967 the US has assisted Israel should be no crime.

What do you define as Palestine? Former Egyptian and Jordanian lands captured by Israel after victory in wars she did not start but which were started by folks who (unlike me and Israel) do not accept a 2 state solution but want the Jews swept into the sea? Those lands Israel has now handed back to the Palestinian people. If only they could also gain control of Jordan, a country where 85% of the population but 0% of the rulers are Palestinian.

But let’s forget history. You clearly have. What is the injustice today in Israel shipping in 170,000 tonnes of aid a month to Gaza and receiving 200 rockets aimed at its civilians back in return. Perhaps you think Israel needs to have more rockets aimed at her. Or that she should relax border controls so that more munitions could get through to Hamas? What sort of justice do you want?

That I offend you is not because I know too little about the Middle East but because, as a supporter of a 2 state solution and enemy of fascism wherever it occurs, I point out the facts and they offend your pernicious Jew hating view of the world.

If you do not like my views you do not have to read them. My Jew hating friend, you can ignore facts and history at your leisure. But please do not attempt to “no platform” me in the name of freedom and justice.
