If it was just down to Ukraine or printing vast amounts of new money all of Western Europe would be in the same mess. But it is not as the graphic below demonstrates. UK electricity is vastly more expensive than anywhere else in Europe? Why?
a) our moronic leaders have shut down non green power plants so we have to import far more electricity from ovseases than anywhere else and that is expensive
b) We are paying huge green levies to subsidise uneconomic “green power” which only produces a bit of our power even when we have the right sort of wind and sun, as part of our net zero ambitions. Meanwhile China builds a new coal fired power station every week making our efforts to “stop man made global warming” pointless, as it is a hoax, but also meaningless even if it is not
This is the folly of almost the entire media and political classes, of the GroupThink. They virtue signal, you pay.
