We didn’t buy Big Bear, pictured below. He was given to us by someone looking after the hiuse one summer. We just came home to find him sitting at the kitchen table with some pots of porridge in front of him. These days he sleeps in the same room as Joshua and Jaya but the Mrs and myself have been quite keen to give him to a charity shop. But now he has been saved.
For Jaya’s birthday party he was brought down to the living room so that her little friends could say hello. But that evening as he slumped between the TV and a King William sofa belonging to my late father and lovingly restored, Sian and Quincey found a new place to sleep. And since then the cats have made that their place of rest during both day and night. It is not too far from a warming fire and if it makes the cats happy, the Mrs cannot argue that Big Bear must go. He has been saved by the cats.
