What you do not see is a tray of blackberries flash frozen and packed away in the freezer for making winter summer puddings and another litre of ice cream (blackberry) now on its way to the same place. However…
Joshua and I harvested another batch of golden raspberries and a tray of them, with a couple of domesticated blackberries, is now being flash frozen for those Autumn puddings. Then there is the start of making six loaves of Bara Brith (a Welsh fruit cake) for Sharestock. Overnight the dried fruit for the first two were soaked in black tea. They will go into the oven later today and another batch of fruit will start to soak.
Finally, the last of the apple trees in the 4 year old new orchard was harvested. I slept well last night but know that I am bound to have a bad night soon at which point I will occupy myself with domestic chores and those apples will be wrapped in newspaper and put in my apple rack, with many others, to be eaten between now and Christmas.
