Photo article from the Welsh Hovel: last jam of the year, it is rhubarb and ginger

There is a fruit and produce fair in the village this Sunday and I have donated two jars of jam to the tombola school run by my daughter’s under 5 group. The Mrs applauds that while still insisting that making all those jams and chutneys is a waste of time. As they are handed out as Christmas presents we will go through the same exchange.

Anyhow the last of the jams has been made. There is still a last bit of rhubarb to harvest and I have promised the family a rhubarb and ginger crumble this weekend. There are bags of rhubarb stored in my freezer. But before then it is rhubarb and ginger jam which is my mother-in-law’s favourite.
