It was back in August 2022 that this giant lake here in North Wales hit the headlines. The summer was hot and as the water levels fell the ghostly ruins of the welsh speaking village of Llanwddyn, flooded out by the Victorians to provide drinking water for the English infidels, started to appear. Global warming! Here’s the proof screamed the BBC, the MSM GroupThink and folks like Chris Packham and David Attenborough. We were told we’d better get used to it, this will occur again and again unless we stop man made climate change. There is data out this week.
As I write the Dee flows through my orchard having flooded again. That is because waters have been released up at lake Bala. In other words the Bala and Vyrnwy levels, measured jointly by United Utilities would be higher still were it not for man’s intervention. But for what it is worth the two lakes were, as at last Sunday, 80.3% full. That compared to last year’s 75.9% and the long term average of 77.8%.
So it has taken just two years to recover from the lows of 2022. This is down to there having been a lot of rain this year and last. According to the cultists that was down to man made climate change too. Rain, drought, neither: take your pick it is all climate change for the cultists.
