The establishment will not prosecute Tony Blair for starting a wholly ilegal war in Iraq. He was blasted by Chilcot. But while squaddies who might have killed one person or a few in error in the heat of battle face trial for war crimes, Blair, who has the blood of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and 179 British soldiers on his hands after a cold calculating decision, will not be charged. Those who run the show look after their own. We can today start to change that.
Families of the British dead are trying to raise £150,000 to prosecute Blair. Sadly the taxpayer will fund Blair's defence costs and any fines he picks up but that is a small price to pay to ensure that this war criminal faces some sort of justice. A guilty verdict would leave him facing the shame and disgrace that he deserves.
The appeal is already after just a day or two more than half way to its target. I am sure that you can afford a tenner and would agree that it is a small price to pay for the pleasure of seeing this wretched, lying, vile individual where he belongs, in Court.
It only heightens my own sense of anger with the British establishment that it is failing the people in not putting Blair on trial itself. That we, the people, have to fund a private prosecution is yet another disgrace and reason why the insurgency will grow. But that can wait, first things first, dig into your pockets, fish out a tenner and lets get Blair into the dock.
