Is it some Hamas loving lecturer at Lancaster University or backers of Upland Resources (UPL)? Who knows? Anyhow we fight on. In the podcast I discuss Upland, Equals (EQLS), Caracal Gold (GCAT) and ASOS (ASC).
I start on the topic in the strapline then discuss: Upland Resources (UPL), Tintra (TNT) and other spoof bids. Then it is onto Caracal (GCAT) a clear zero in waiting, ASOS (ASC) and why Gary is wrong, Dev Clever and why the FCA has no balls, CAB Payments (CABP), Regtech Open (RTOP) and the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME) .

In today’s podcast I look at ASOS (ASC), Belluscura (BELL), Versarien (VRS), ICG Longbow (LBOW) and lessons learned from the ouzo moments and 100% vindications today at MGC Pharmaceuticals (MXC) and Cook’s Coffee (COK) another disaster from Andrew Monk’s VSA Capita (VSA).

I start with a few words about mad domestic panic ahead of my trek down to Winchester tomorrow. That is for the Woodlarks walk and thank you to all who have helped us reach (with gift aid) £18,600. If you have forgotten to assist you can still do so HERE. Then it is onto Eden Research (EDEN), ASOS (ASC), a reminder of the insider dealing laws, Eco Buildings (ECOB) and AMTE Power (AMTE).

I start with a TV recommendation, Murder in Steeltown, it is superb. Then it is Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks where, with gift aid and a kind – as yet unbooked – pledge, we are now 25% of the way to target at £12,500. If you are among the 91% of listeners yet to donate please do so HERE. Then it is onto the Universal Basic Income pilot. Gosh the Tories are idiots. Then it is Versarien (VRS), Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI), Chill Brands (CHLL), ASOS (ASC), Deepverge (DVRG), Microsaic (MSYS) and the moral bankruptcy of Turner Pope.

I start with Lucian’s 24 mile suffering while I did not suffer from walking but, once again, from being the pantomime villain of the village facebook site. In short, to the 92% of you yet to donate please give to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks HERE. Then I move on to ASOS (ASC) and Eden Research (EDEN).

My two share purchases are discussed at the end of the podcast. Before that I discuss Eurasia’s (EUA) latest porky, Guild ESports (GILD), Cellular Goods (CBX), retail inflation especially relating to cat food, and then Asos (ASC) – in detail.

The Dark Destroyer has built up a sizeable short in ASOS (ASC) the Sunday Times blasted yesterday. Perhaps he’s been reading ShareProphets as we’ve been bearish for a long while. I discussed this in bearcast yesterday. But would you like to meet Matt in person as he is a lead speaker at ShareStock on September 23. There is more.
I start with Matt and the other speakers at ShareStock. It is exactly five months away and – as of today – 60% of the seats are bagged so book yours now HERE. Then it is onto house prices and the affordability issue and why the entire media and political class just don’t get it: Government is the problem not the solution. Finally is Matt right about Asos (ASC). I fear it is a high risk trade at this juncture.

I explain why Bearcast is late. There are several reasons but the main one is me distributing Christmas presents in Bristol to an Aunt and a Great Aunt and it is the latter’s story from 1938 regarding Munich which I find so fascinating. Then it is onto ASOS (ASC), the CFO merry go round and the fundamental reasons why it is a short. Finally Comrade Stacey is almost 100% in cash. Three Brains Bailey is 0% in cash. I explain why I agree with three brains

I start with the latest “let’s get TW hate campaign” with, this time, Avacta (AVCT) owning morons leading the charge. Suffice to say if folks this dumb are long you know to be short. Then onto ADM Energy (ADME), Deepverge (DVRG), ASOS (ASC), Sosandar (SOS), Boohoo (BOO), Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT) and then the laugh a minute show at Powerhouse (PHE), now at 1.65p a compelling short thanks to the antics of PR man posing as a journalist Zak Mir.

I am today alone at the Greek Hovel, for reasons I explain. Walking up and down snake hill, I must have sweated off 15 lbs! In the podcast, I start with a look at Boohoo (BOO), ASOS (ASC) and the issue of earnings visibility, as business models are forced to change. On my return, I spoke to a whistleblower from a 2021 IPO roll-call-of-shame company; I relay some of the specific accusations made. I’m not sure when to name the company, and how I should play it. But I will do so when back in the UK. The said accusations compound a dire financial position, about which I have warned you numerous times.

To say that I am cross by today’s turn of events would be an understatement. Hence this podcast is short and late and somewhat bad tempered. It covers Asos (ASC), Anglo African (AAAP), Tirupati Graphite (TGR), and Orcadian (ORCA) with another comment on the oil price and oil shares.

Only kidding Mahmud my friend, but here is a Dog’s Arse for you which arrived in Wales today. In the podcast I look at ASOS (ASC), Boohoo (BOO), Remote Monitored Systems (RMS), Ridgecrest (RDGC), MyHealthChecked (MHC), Nightcap (NGHT), the green madness of Joe Biden and a stat sbhowing how he will screw female athletes, and Asiamet (ARS).

I discuss this ethical question as my brother in law salivates at the idea of picking up a gun and heading off to fight the invading Infidels. Should I sell Ariana (AAU) or not? I look at wider gold issues. I cover Versarien (VRS), ASOS (ASC), the so called economic recovery, and finally Verditek (VFTK) where I am vindicated by today’s fess up but it is not enough of a mea culpa, boardroom heads should be rolling. The stock is, pro tem, uninvestable.

In today’s bearcast I look at more toxic behaviour at Anglo African Oil & Gas (AAOG), at TrakM8 (TRAK), Bluejay (JAY) and there is more on Woodford Patient Capital Trust (WPCT) and the, slowly detonating, nuclear grenade that is Proton Partners (PPI). I also look at (bad) news from Asos (ASC) and Sosandar (SOS) and wonder if there is something happening in online shopping that we have missed.

I start with a look at Frontera Resources (FRR) and what should and what may happen on Monday in light of this weekend's revelations. You would not want to be long of this one. Then I look at the most shorted shares on AIM and explain why for many of them, notably IQE (IQE), Telit (TCM), ASOS (ASC), Boohoo (BOO) and Victoria (VCP) the bear c ase has just got that much stronger, by an order of n, in the past few weeks. Finally a warning for shareholders in First Derivatives (FDP) - I have a small present for you tomorrow. :)

Recorded in a car outside the mother-in-law's house in the Grim North I start with explaining just how bad this weekend will be for retail UK and what happens next. Then using ASOS (ASC) as a case study I go on to show why all broker research is pointless and worthless shite. Then to Babcock (BAB) and why bear raiders are ususally right, Boatman has been.

I am shortly off to stay with my mother in law in the Grim North for a couple of days. Joy to the world! I am made angry by Wishbone Gold (WSBN) and Turner Pope and comment on that. Shy Bear is a reticent fellow but a short seller currently without exposure to this sector. Having listened to my, most excellent, bearcast yesterday he offers up a few thoughts. I know shy bear well and he is no fool. Ignore these stark warnings at your peril should you be foolish enough to contemplate a spot of bottom fishing. Over to Shy Bear who opines:

I start off with news from Woodlarks. Then I ask if shareholders in Frontera (FRR) are all stark raving mad in light of this and question why Alliance News appears complicit in market abuse. Then onto ASOS (ASC), Boohoo(BOO) and Sosandar (SOS). I explain why the three are trading differently and what the shocker from ASOS means for the wider stockmarket. Whole sectors are officially on the bargepole list (although Neil Woodford appears to disagree).

Next week the Bank of England will increase base rates. Almost certainly by not enough but it is a start and a sign of what is to come. I look at new data out this week which shows just how much of a shock even a rise of 0.5% will be to millions of our fellow citizens and what the ramifications of that will be. I look at share sales at Berkeley Group (BKG), I look at CEO pay at ASOS (ASC) and finally have real doubts about the forthcoming IPO of Footasylum which I'd dodge big time.

Some posts on our comments section are so interesting that they merit a wider audience. Overnight Paul Scott, Britain;s top share blogger, served up a really interesting one on ASOS (ASC), prompted by Malcolm Stacey's recent (bearish) article here. This is really very interesting analysis. The great Scott writes:

The bit about naked women explains itself but is of course a cue to link to the photo articles on Quindell's & Cloudtag's daftest shareholders, semi naked sisters Kate & Hayley. China and the UK property crash elaborates on the points I made in the property crash bearcast HERE. And then we turn to the question of can you find a thousand bagger, the new ASOS (ASC) . I ask this because of Malcolm's words on IQE (IQE) HERE and because I am just about to make a large new investment - could it be the next ASOS? It won't be but I explain why that does not mean I am not excited.

Few, other than the clowns such as Marcus Stuttard at the LSE, can argue against AIM having delivered absolutely dreadful returns for investors. Since its launch the AIM Index is down by 5.4% (dividends included). The FTSE 100 has doubled over the same period and the FTSE Small Cap Index is 250% ahead. Actually the numbers are even worse. Strip out a handful of massive winners like ASOS and Domino's Pizza and the AIM Index is into double digit losses. But are private investors who have born the brunt of this wealth destruction now getting revenge with spate of attempted boardroom purges? Yes and No.
Oddly some of the crony capitalists running lifestyle businesses on AIM are

I am no fan of Channel 4, Most of its reporting is shocking. But the Dispatches programme today was superb journalism. It exposed Boohoo.com (BOO) and to a far lesser extent ASOS (ASC) for the way they treat management. Boohoo was truly shamed. Its management were shown to be shifty and deceitful in their responses to a film footage which showed quite sickening exploitation of workers and indeed law breaking. If I was a customer I'd shut my account down at once. There are legal and financial implications (bad ones) but the biggest will be reputational damage. How will the snowflake generation who are Boohoo customers react? Looker at #BoycottBoohoo on twitter and have a guess. All this is discussed in a bonus podcast.

The October edition of the UK Investor Show magazine is live features 7 buy tips, including 5 our writers believe will beat ASOS. Plus a feature on why the Bubbles are About to Pop, in Trump vs Clinton - who is the biggest loser from this contest, and why Scotland can't afford to leave the UK.

As I noted in bearcast yesterday I remember my old pal Mark Watson Mitchell tipping ASOS (ASC) at 7p. The shares hit a high of c£70 so that was a 1000 bagger for anyone who got their timing spot on and held. I doubt anyone did. But could there be another ASOS lurking out there on the London Stockmarket and if so what is it?

The Mrs is staying with the mother in law for another day meaning more peace and quiet for myself and Oakley and another day not to tidy up various messes that have been created. What bliss. Another week goes by and it is another week of ludicrious divorce settlements. Greedy women taking their poor lunch-tickets, oops I meant ex husbands, to the cleaners. Anyone with wealth or ambition marrying in Britain today needs their head examined.
Nick Robertson the, rather pompous, boss of online retailer ASOS got taken for £70 million - half his fortune - by his ex Mrs. The argument is that without her there to support his career by looking after their brats he would not have the fortune. That is patently untrue. I have met Robertson, who strikes me as smug and conceited, but there is no doubt that he - not his money grabbing ex Mrs - had the idea, drive and talent to create and build ASOS. Yes the Mrs looked after the brats, but she was doing a job which could equally have been done by an uber-posh blonde Swedish nanny with great legs on £40,000 a year.
I am sure Mr Robertson could have been persuaded

Quindell (QPP) later. For now I look at Boohoo, ASOS, Sainsbury, Majestic Wines, whether online retailers should get a premium to offline retailers and comment en passant on Range Resources and Tern but in detail on IGAS and in total detail on the disgraceful behaviour of Mr Steve Berry and Touchstone Gold. This is truly disgusting and the man has no place on the AIM casino while Touchstone is officially a POS.

The normal Bearcast will be up a bit later. However I was struck by news releases issued today by ASOS (ASC), Northern Petroleum (NOP), Blur (BLUR) and Globo (GBO) and so recorded a podcast special. Superficially it might seem like good news all round, however:

Nine weeks ago after the profits warning from ASOS (ASC), to much abuse from Bulletin Board Morons who looked at price not value, I warned that the shares would fall further from £33 - HERE. They have. But the shares have further to slide and I am today cutting my target price from £20 - see HERE - to £16 and here’s why.
The Bulletin Board Morons reckon that a share that was once £70 should surely be able to get back to close to that level. They say “it’s cheap relative to where it was.” They ignore the fact that it was grotesquely overpriced at £70 but now – on the basis of slashed earnings numbers – it is still rated as a glamour stock. Glamour stocks don’t issue profits warnings.

My weekly video postcard finds me sitting on my newly constructed eco-loo. More on that in a later photo article.
The main theme of this postcard is the folly of Western meddling abroad. It was the great Dr Ron Paul (pictured) who coined the term blowback. The theme runs through Iraq, Afghanistan and is now playing out in Syria, Libya and the Ukraine.
When will our leaders learn and stop lying?
The Christopher Booker article I refer to is HERE
My weekly financial video postcard covers the uncertainty of earnings where margins are apparently supra-normal. Yes this means Quindell & ASOS. I also look at why the market mood has changed. It can be viewed HERE

Oh dear, Oh dear. It seems as if the ASOS (ASC) warehouse, somewhere in the Grim North went up in smoke on Friday evening. The UK website has stopped taking orders but says that it will resume operations within the next day or so. Ok so what about the share price then?

I am an ASOS (ASC) bear and explained last week why I think the shares should be at £23 - HERE. Natch the City’s brokers all used phrases such as “buying opportunity” after the most recent profits warning. Heck they seek corporate mandates rather than handing out decent advice. But hat’s off to Morgan Stanley. It has broken ranks with a bearish note out today. Good on you fellas.

ASOS (ASC) got off lightly with its profits warning yesterday but as its PR and IR machine cranks up do not be tempted to bottom fish at £33 – this stock £70 not that long ago ) is heading lower still. £23 looks about right as an initial share price target.
Normally if a company says it will miss earnings forecasts by 20% its shares fall by 40%. That is a stockmarket rule of thumb, care of Mark Slater. ASOS suffered a fall of just 28%. But what next?

Some folks think that I am the lackey of bear raider Evil Knievil, writing to order to suit his needs. Au contraire. He does not work for me and vice versa and given how insufferable the old boy can be when he gets it right, I – like many – take a perverse pleasure when one of his short positions sees his financial toes roasted close to the fire. And online retail giant ASOS (LSE:ASC) has roasted Evil badly over the years. He has been short for much of its meteoric rise and he is still short with the shares at 3,334p – he will carry on getting burned.
I write this totally objective comment on ASOS even though it uses as its PR form College Group which I appear to be having a bit of a battle with as of this afternoon. To read about Kay Larsen PR prude at College Group PR, Pornography, Cheryl Cole, sheep shagging and Advanced Computer Software click HERE
Moving on from the prude to the bear. Cawkwell (that is to say Evil Knievil) has always been of the view that ASOS shares trade on too high a PE because at some stage the earnings growth rate will slip. So far it has not happened and I guess it will have cost him several hundreds of thousands of pounds. It will cost him more.

AIM-listed international online fashion retailer ASOS (ASC) has published a positive update on December trading – sending the share price up to £26.60, which capitalises it at more than £2.19 billion. The following reviews the trading announcement and current investment proposition from this company that great bear Evil Knievil has consistently shorted and consistently got wrong…

A good chat with bear raider Evil Knievil today throws up the fact that his biggest short position right now is online celebrity driven retailer ASOS (ASC) but also that he is looking at another stock that I have already written up as a slam dunk short – more on that later. Those who have followed the great bear will remember that Evil has consistently shorted ASOS ( betting against the lure of Stella McCartney, Kate Moss etc) and consistently got it wrong. His losses over the years on this one must be well into seven figures by now but undeterred he is at it again. But is he right?
