Like all human beings I have an irrational interest in round numbers and thus I note simply because I am a bit of a saddo that this, my personal blog, has now been read 1,9999,972 times since it was launched just under five years ago. Now you make not think that this is a terribly big number.

When I parted company with t1ps the pathetic wretch put in charge - Mr Richard “Gollum” Gill -sent a letter to its then 3000+ subscribers blaming me for everything and saying “new management was turning it around”. That was 30 months ago. At the same time I bought from Rivington – the owner of t1ps – the Real Man Restaurant in an open auction. It was losing £8,000 a month and was viewed as a basket case.
Wind forward 30 months. T1ps has lost 95% of its readers and was last weekend shut down. So much for the turn around.

Once again it is that week when Darren Atwater and I both turn one year older. Last Monday the pizza hardman turned 47. I stop being 46 this Monday coming up and as it is the start of the year you naturally think about what you have achieved and what you want to achieve.
We are getting older. Perhaps as importantly our parents are getting pretty old now – Darren’s in Canada, mine in Shipston. As they all head towards eighty you have certain thoughts. I guess both Darren and I are also contemplating that we are closer to retirement age than to the start of our careers. In his quiet way he still has a bit more hunger than I do to achieve and conquer. I think I’m well past that now.
Professionally we can look back two years with some satisfaction. We have
