Video: Debt and War – The Signs of a Dying Empire, buy Gold not Dollars

Asset Manager, Michael Piepenburg, is quite clear: we are at a turning point when it comes to the death of an Empire, that is to say, America.

Rebecca Vilkomerson - a hateful face of liberal America discusses white privilege at Dunkirk

Rebecca lives in Brooklyn. I suspect not in Bed Stuy with the poor black folks but with other rich white liberals in Park Slope or somewhere else that was once edgy but is now smug and bourgeois. She works, as you can see below, helping grass roots organisations. You get the picture. And she takes to twitter to show the caring face of liberal America today. First she addresses Dunkirk.

Fake news! Roseanne reruns Pulled and replaced with Cosby - what does that say about our values?

Hands up I fell for fake news. That will teach me to believe every tweet and retweet from Donald Trump! What i wrote was:

The show Roseanne has been scrapped following some explicitly racist tweets by its star Roseanne Barr. ABC did the right thing. It has also pulled any re-runs of old shows. Perhaps that is a bit tough on other cast members who will lose royalties but there is a very strong case for it.

Time to ban snowflake millennials from owning or using phones and cars until they hit 30?

The millennials, on the coasts at least, are up in arms calling for and end to the rights of Americans to own firearms. Mistakenly they think that repealing the 2nd Amendment so that honest folks hand in their guns allowing criminals and nutjobs, who won't, to shoot at will, is going to make America safer. Whatever. But at least they should be consistent.

Tom Winnifrith Postcard: Why I want Donald Trump to beat Hillary Clinton

I have, or had, a very old friend. I think they are not speaking to me now because I support Donald Trump which I regret very much and which has upset me more than I can say. I try to explain to that friend why I do back Trump. I hope they will listen to the end and understand why I feel why I do and why there are very good reasons why a compassionate America should vote Trump.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - 4th July, Independence is on my mind

Happy Independence day to our American listeners. My prayers are that tomorrow Greece votes for freedom and votes Oxi! But will it? And what does that mean for the Euro and shares. I note Goldman Sachs claims that a Nai vote will see global equities rise by 10%. Hmmm, I think it misses the bear in the China shop. A few thoughts brought to you from Athens in today's podcast.

This podcast is recorded in the most excellent Anthropology cafe in Athens which I heartily recommend - although it really needs to start stocking ouzo

And fear not Champagne Charlie Gibson fans, I had not forgotten about you. Just a reminder of why the Edison analyst is a convicted felon HERE and as a bonus a reminder of how it is not only the poor he screws HERE - and a reminder of why I feel the urge to remind you all HERE

Explaining to Americans why the Man United IPO is for suckers

About once every three days, the New York Stock Exchange seems to tweet or issue a release saying how proud it is to have linked up with Manchester United (MANU), the British soccer club which gained a listing three weeks ago, raising $233 million at $14. The company claims in its prospectus lodged with the SEC July 30th to be one of the world’s “leading brands,” but is it a good investment? Without a doubt the answer is No! Perhaps it might help if I explain why, from the perspective of a British soccer fan who happens to be an investment writer as well.

Let us start with ancient history. 1968 to be precise.
