Cyril d'Silva of Golden Saint Resources infamy plans UK stockmarket comeback with MKI

Having helped investors in the UK lose 99.9% of their cash with Golden Saint Resources (GSR) as he trousered vast sums in fees and commissions, Aussie promoter Cyril d'Silva is back for a second go. And why not? It worked well for Cyril last time and it appears that (by definition, morally bankrupt) advisors are already lined up to allow him to float a BVI registered cash shell, Millenium Kapital Investments Pty Ltd on the Standard List.

Sefton Resources – Jimmyliar Ellerton shares confiscated, yours may be forcibly bought back

And you thought the pantomime was over… now unlisted and registered in the BVI the latest developments at Sefton Resources (SER) are, predictably amusing. When Sefton was booted off AIM it had 4.8 billion shares in issue. Until the other day it appears to have had almost 9 billion pieces of confetti in issue. But that is set to change.

Sefton - call to arms: Flip Flop Ben Turney now at 21% support to oust the board

The board of Sefton (SER) was informed eight days ago that Flip Flop Ben Turney owned 13% of the issued share capital and was demanding an EGM to oust the current directors, ADVFN (AFN) bosses Clem Chambers and Mike Hodges with Ben taking control. The resolution arrived in the BVI yesterday by snail mail but after eight days Flip Flop has not had a response. But he seems to have growing support and there are other developments.

Panama Papers: Tory Fat Cat Dominic Grieve: "save the banksters in offshore tax havens"

I am not sure that this shows how "in touch" Mr David Cameron's Tories are with the zeitgeist but his former Attorney General Dominic Grieve MP does not want a hasty reaction to the Panama Papers because he thinks we must protect the, now threatened, species that is the offshore bankster.

Like many on the right, I find the idea that multi millionaires, like David Cameron's late father can pay sod all tax becuase they use offshore shell companies while folks like you and I pay the full whack a bit distasteful. It is sordid and patently unfair that "taxes are for little people". Conservatism should be about meritocracy and opportunity for all not just helping a small financial elite get even richer.

Of course one way to get the small super rich spivs back onshore is to lower UK tax rates and I am a big supporter of that.

But equally it does seem just wrong that crown colonies are allowing the uber rich to pay sweet FA and -as the Panama Papers make clear - to allow other rich folk to engage in money laundering. The former is distatsteful, the latter illegal.

Could we clamp down on what goes on in crown colonies like the BVI, Jersey and the Isle of Man? Yes we could. We could, for instance
