COP26

So what about the dying polar bears and the penguins as the sea ice disappears: the biggest global warming myth of our time.

It was about ten years ago when I sat down with my daughter Olaf, now 21 and in her final year at Oxford, to enjoy a meal at an Italian restaurant. I was greatly taken by an electric grater of parmesan and suggested to the little Trustafarian (not on my side) that I quite fancied one for Christmas. “But what about the Polar Bears, Daddy” said Olaf almost in tears

Good morning Doom Goblin Greta Thunberg, Carrie Antoinette & Boris: care to explain this global warming in Mother Russia?

Man-made carbon emissions are causing the world to get warmer and we must act now if we are to restrict that growth to 1.5% or 2.5% or whatever. So say the cultists after jetting back from COP26. These are, of course, the same cultists who warned us in 1988 that the Maldives would be under water by 2010, that within a few years of 2000 kids would ever see snow again, etc, etc, etc. We can discuss whether climate change – which has always happened – is caused by man made carbon emissions with reference to the Medieval warm period or the Maunder Minimum at another point although if you want to pass Geography GCSE these days such discussions are not recommended. Those who set the curriculum, the BBC, wretched Boris Johnson and others say that the science is settled so do not mention temperatures in 1200 or you are a vile denier one step removed from those operating the holocaust death camps. In that vein…

Question: What is the difference between Christmas & Diwali? Hint it is all down to global warming & when will the caterpillar genocide begin?

For the avoidance of doubt I am delighted that people of faith celebrate their festivals however they want but it seems that those who run our lives, that is to say the sleazy meddlers at Westminster, take a different view and that is the answer to my first question as I celebrate the wankfest that is COP26.

Photo article: You don't have to hate the Jews to want to save the planet at COP26 but it seems to help...

Well over ten thousand protested at the weekend outside COP26. For folks like the crazed doom goblin, Greta Thunberg, facts do not matter. More must be done to screw the poor with green taxes and wreck Western economies. Sorry I meant to save the planet. For the doom goblin, global warming is the only issue. But among her fellow protesters?

Feedback – back the bookbuild or – after disastrous results – it’s a crash landing in tits up alley

There are a few things that I disagree with Comrade Malcom Stacey about: all this green shite from COP26 for starters. Just how great meat tastes is another. And whether the Guardian newspaper has any useful purpose other than to light a fire is a third. A fourth is Feedback (FDBK) which he keeps tipping and which I regard as a cash guzzling, jam tomorrow generating, worthless piece of crap which serves only to enrich City financiers and has two decades of failure to boast about. So today we have (dire) results and a £10.5 million or more fund raise. A bookbuild is underway.

UPDATED: Tory MP Owen Patterson, an LGBT road crossing in Surrey and David Amess – the political class just don’t get it

Like, I suspect, many couples The Mrs and I stare at our fuel bills with horror. We discuss what the financial impact of higher mortgage rates will be when our current deal expires in 18 months time. I present the latest Tesco bill for her to see and it is shocking.  These are the grim financial realities we dirty plebs face in Britain 2021. And then we see our leaders, and other 1%ers, flying in private jets to Glasgow to lecture us on how we should not take an Easyjet trip to Greece next summer.  It is nauseating. COP26 may well be seen as yet another sign of how it is them and us. The murder of Tory MP David Amess was another.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Happy Halloween, is that Julie Meyer screaming Trick or Treat at my front door?

Actually it is lashing down with rain and the Welsh Hovel is at the end of a badly lit lane so I shall be very surprised if any kids venture down here to say Trick or Treat. But I am ready to say “bugger off” if they do. In the podcast I discuss storms, COP26 and 1987, today’s article on Vast Resources (VAST) and the shock factor of interest rate rises for folks who cannot consider the idea they may happen.

Who is to blame for the armies of rats clambering over the rubbish piling up in Glasgow? Who do you think?

Ahead of the pointless green wankfest that is COP26, folks in the host City are getting hotter under the collar than a solar panel desperately seeking sun on the Clyde, over the fact that Glasgow appears to be over-run with rats amid piles of rubbish. Personally I reckon that is all down to global warming but others think that the blame can be pointed at a more obvious villain. So who is to blame? Is it:
