AIM Awards shortlist out – more nauseating self indulgence, but perhaps it tells us where value lies

As David Lenigas so rightly pointed out the other day, AIM is not the world’s most successful growth market, as it claims, it is dying on its feet. It is on track to suffer its worst year in history in terms of fundraisings, investors are set for another year of negative returns and the number of companies is shrinking rapidly to more than 20 year lows. Yet the fat cats, the crony capitalists who have grown rich are preparing for a black tie feast of back slapping and self indulgence, where tickets costing hundreds of pounds and vast drinks bills are ultimately pad for by you, investors. The AIM Awards shortlists are out. It is nauseating.>You pay for the 12 October bean feast as you are shareholders in companies which pay vast fees to Nomads, brokers,, PR fluffies, lawyers and accountants and it is they who are paying thousands of pounds to book tables at this event. It is YOUR money being spaffed. Given how badly AIM has performed this year those firms booking tables should be utterly ashamed. Anyhow, the shortlists are out as you can see below.

GOTCHA! Made.com …they think its all over…..200p to 1p in 16 months

Hurst has not stuck the ball in the back of the net yet but the crowd of bears are on the pitch clutching bottles of ouzo and is that a Fat Lady I see among them?  Surely this disgrace from the IPO class of 2021 is doomed after the latest news? Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Diary date 23 September 2023

Put it in your diary now. That is ShareStock 2023. Come on Jimbo you have more than a year to persuade your Mrs to allow you out for the weekend. Courage mon brave! In the podcast I look at Audioboom (BOOM), Parsley Box (MEAL), Fevertree (FEVR) and the greed of Novum, king of the spivs Jon Bellis and Strand Hanson with 2 Standard List IPOs today. No way on earth with that structure will anyone bar the crony capitalists make money from those deals. Coke & hookers all round.

And the small cap journalist of the year is…I cannot imagine why Gollum & Jim Mellon are missing the obvious choice?

Thursday night sees another back slapping awards ceremony where the crony capitalists who grow rich floating shite on AIM, Aquis and the Standard lLst congratulate themselves on another year of screwing mug punters. This is the Small Cap Network awards now owned by Master Investor, prop. my good pal Jim Mellon. Jim, I am gutted…

Will Novacyt follow Bidstack or Henderson Morley?

The Annual AIM awards were a virtual event this year. So there was no need for 1200 crony capitalists from the City to fork out £150 for a ticket, pour themselves into DJs and party frocks and head off to tell each other how wonderful they all were. The crony capitalists will have to spend cash ultimately leached from mug punter investors elsewhere. What good news for coke suppliers and hookers.

Retail-aggedon: TheWorks just about avoids ANOTHER profits warning but CEO walks anyway

How different it was eighteen months ago when Investec raised £62.5 million  at 160p to IPO Theworks.co.uk (WRKS). Just think about how much coke and how many hookers you could snaffle from crony capitalist Investec’s fees on that deal! Hmmmmmm. You bring the hookers, I’ll bring the Charlie, the lads at Investec are ‘avin’ a party. Today, after just avoiding yet another profits warning, the CEO has been resigned with immediate effect and the shares are just 33.9p. Ouch.

Another triumph for AIM: Labour Lord Alli’s Koovs goes bust

Well you cannot say you were not warned about Koovs (KOOV) by this website numerous times. This Bearcast from January 11 2016 (Koovs disgusts me) is pretty explicit. The City Crony capitalists loved the Indian retailer as its momentous losses meant it was a fee cash cow. I dread to think how much coke & hookers cash this company generated for the City.  Our full list of warnings are here and should be preserved as, today, the administrators were called in, the Nomad quit and the Fat Lady moved centre stage. What is the Hindi version of “All the Money’s gone?”

Today’s episode of Retail-aggedon – Theworks.co.uk Timber!

This operator of 525 outlets flogging gifts, arts, crafts, toys, books and stationery raised a stonking £62.5 million at 160p, c/o crony capitalists Investec in July of last year. Just imagine the fees it earned on that deal. Coke and hookers all round. After a profits warning today shares in TheWorks (WRKS)  are just 44p and the company will pretty soon be in net debt, in fact I suspect it already is. Yikes. Cue the ShareProphets National Anthem below….

Six days to the obscene swine-fest you fund, the AIM Awards: so how is the casino doing?

Now in its 24th year the annual obscenity that is the AIM Awards Dinner is now just six days away. Tickets cost £200 a pop and Nomads, brokers, lawyers, accountants and PR firms snap up all 1200 of them. It is an osbcene beanfeast for the crony capitalists.

You could not make it up – look who is sponsoring the crony capitalist beanfeast that is the AIM Awards

Each year 1200 crony capitalists dress up in DJ’s and party frocks to attend the AIM awards dinner. Of course, ultimately, it is shareholders like you, ordinar investors,  who pay for this obscene bean feast. They put up the cash the companies pay the advisers who then book the tables at thousands of pounds a pop. Shareholders lose money on AIM, fat cat directors and crony capitalists swill champagne at their expense. What is not to like? So which fine firms are sponsoring this year’s event? You could not make this up…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Hungover, travelling & Big Sofa - what a day

I had far too much to drink last night. But it really was not my fault. Thus as I travel across Greece today and back to Bristol I feel a bit worse for wear. In this podcast I comment on Hollywood Bowl (BOWL) in light of yesterday's corrupt journalism bearcast. I look at Andalas (ADL) forced to make a belated statement by this website's expose on Saturday HERE. I cover Big Sofa (BST) and LB Shell (LBP) another AIM Casino dog whose sole purpose was to support the lifestyles of crony capitalists.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: RM2, I almost feel sorry for Neil Woodford

Okay, he is a conceited, overpaid, arrogant mother so I don't really feel sorry for him but I explain his appalling problem at doomed RM2 (RM2). I also look at Inspirit (INSP), Sabien (SNT) and Tomco (TOM) all three of which should be taken out and shot as their sole purpose on the AIM Casino is as a funder for the coke and hookers used by crony capitalists in the City. I explain a flaw (or two) in Malcolm's thesis today as I look at three retailers in trouble: Marks & Spencer (MKS), Debenhams (DEB) and Mothercare (MTC).

Tonight’s AIM awards Black-tie Dinner will nauseate more than ever but will a hat-trick of wins for First Derivatives expose this sham to one and all?

I cannot remember the last time a Northern Ireland player scored a hat-trick in an international. But tonight I am hopeful that Belfast’s finest, First Derivatives (FDP), will pick up three gongs at the annual AIM Awards crony capitalists bean-feast and do the six counties proud. Heading the charge is CEO Brian Conlon who is short-listed for “entrepreneur of the year” sponsored by Octopus Investments. Mirriad parts company with CEO just 9 months after disastrous IPO, cash spunk up to £1m pcm

Cynical Bear warned you that the 62p per share, £63 million, IPO of Mirriad Advertising (MIRI) would cause tears before bedtime. Obviously not for IP Group (IPO) which was able to justify its daft pre IPO investments in relation to that crackers listing price. Nor for Nomad and broker Numis or PR parasites Hudson Sandler which will have earned fat fees for the listing. Coke and hookers all round for the crony capitalists.  But for anyone dumb enough to buy the stock since the IPO this has been a horror show. The shares are now just 30p mid, they have more than halved in ten months on the AIM Casino. So what’s today’s news? It is bad, natch.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Starcom is the bullshitter of the day and Altona the ramp du jour

I start with Starcom (STAR) whose statement as it announces a placing is pure unadulterated bullshit. Do the crony capitalists who put this shite out take us all for morons? Then it is onto Altitude (ALT) whose shares are up by 19% today valuing the company at £32 million. Maybe I am thick ( don't comment on that!) but I just cannot get my head around that valuation and explain why. Finally onto Altona Energy (ANR) and related ramp Uru Metals (URU). This is the latest POS to get the full ramp treatment and I explain why its share price is absurd.

Sound Energy - shares crash as Badile flops, is the company really pleased?

Some folks are just lazy fucks. The team round at PR crony capitalists Vigo Communications who charge an arm and a leg for spinning for Sound Energy (SOU) appear to be such folks, as they put together today's disastrous press release using cut and paste. It starts "Sound Energy, the African and European focused upstream gas company, is pleased to provide an update on the drilling of the Badile exploration well, onshore Italy.". Are we starting to see the revenge of the exploited AIM private investor? Or are they being double duped

Few, other than the clowns such as Marcus Stuttard at the LSE, can argue against AIM having delivered absolutely dreadful returns for investors. Since its launch the AIM Index is down by 5.4% (dividends included). The FTSE 100 has doubled over the same period and the FTSE Small Cap Index is 250% ahead. Actually the numbers are even worse. Strip out a handful of massive winners like ASOS and Domino's Pizza and the AIM Index is into double digit losses. But are private investors who have born the brunt of this wealth destruction now getting revenge with spate of attempted boardroom purges? Yes and No.

Oddly some of the crony capitalists running lifestyle businesses on AIM are

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Bring out the piano wire for the AIM awards tonight & are you boycotting marmite?

Naturally the democracy denying liberal establishment bastards at the BBC blame Brexit for sterling's slide and this - I explained here why this was wrong. I explain what this battle is really about. I then look at DiamondCorp (DCP), Iofina (IOF), Goldstone Resources (GRL) and Magnolia Petroleum (MAGP). I end with a look at the AIM awards. I get really angry at this point and when the anarcho capitalist revolution arrives the 2,500 crony capitalists spending £750,000 of YOUR cash tonight merit a meeting with piano wire.

The elephant in the AIM abuse room: expenses and corporate entertainment - hookers on the tab & the AIM awards

The revelations this week about how both Teathers Financial (TEA), notably HERE & HERE, and the former manager at Wandisco (WAND), HERE, have pillaged shareholder funds to allow management, their wives and pals to live the high life have been shocking. That the Teathers boys thought racking up a bar tab in one night which was greater than the UK average post tax monthly wage just shows how distorted was their value set. But this is the tip of a very enormous iceberg on AIM and among the crony capitalists who service AIM Companies. And it's all your money. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: talking bailout placings at Blenheim & FastForward and Asian shite on AIM

In today's bearcast I look at just how weak are the balance sheet's of Blenheim Natural Resources (BNR) and FastForward (FFWD) and discuss imminent bailout placings. I mention a greedy bastard, taking time off from mis-treating his patients who is giving me stick on Glenwick (GWIK) and then I look at CSF Group (CSFG) and the sheer scale of how London's crony capitalists have milked this dog as shareholders have lost almost everything. Tom Winnifrith's BearCast - Time to revolt against the Crony Capitalist nomads, brokers, PRs and boards

I was thinking, as I rode home through ghostly olive groves illuminated by a full moon, about the mindset of Daniel Stewart employees who want to beat me up. My crime is to point out the fact that they have earned vast sums by floating and raising money for frauds, so screwing ordinary AIM investors.

I do not claim to be an Angel but I do not regard pointing out the wickedness of this as being a terribly bad thing to do. But the Crony Capitalists who have grown rich on AIM, the Nomads, brokers, PRs and boards really do not like hearing this unpleasant truth. They actually think I am a bad guy for rocking the boat and as such wanting to beat me up is acceptable.

In 2014 the Crony capitalists have had a good year. Investors on the AIM Casino have had a shit year.  I explain why the system is flawed, why the City does not understand the anger we peasants feel and how we peasants ( ie investors) need to start taking concreate steps to make our anger known.

The front page of the Telegraph’s coverage of the US midterms has the vile Clinton woman hugging the harridan Democrat incumbent in North Carolina. The democrat harridan lost her Senate Seat. Back in Bill Clinton’s home state the lecherous old dirtbag himself turned out nine times in support of the incumbent Democrat senator. He lost too. President hopey change is now so toxic that he was barely seen on the stump at all with many Democrats refusing to use his name and one high profile Senate challenger refusing to say if she had even voted for the man she refused to name. It did not save her. She lost too.

The GOP now runs both the Senate and the House. President Obama is a widely loathed lame duck President and all those associated with him, including the loathsome Clintons are equally tarnished. What a great day for America.

Six years ago President Obama promised so much and was promptly given the Nobel Peace prize. Six years later

The AIM Casino Explained in One Picture - Saturday Caption Contest

We hope that this cartoon which is more than 150 years old explains how the LSE came up with the idea of the AIM Casino. The many bring their wealth in and buy shares and the money goes to the managers of the offerings (City Crony capitalists) and the Directors. Shimple, sheeple. To win today’s contest simply post your captions in the comments section below.

CEO ego of the week: Dominic Keen CEO of Mopowered

AIM casino posterboy Mopowered (MPOW) has today announced a rescue placing at 5p. It was listed at 100p on December 18 last year. It was trading whilst insolvent until today and has been for weeks. The shares are now 8.125p so investors have lost 92% of their cash in just over nine months. But it is not all bad news: the lawyers, brokers, nomad, accountants and PRs assisting this POS will – after commission today – have now made more than £1 million from the firm.  It is coke and hookers all round for the Crony Capitalists of the AIM Casino, and hard cheese for the shareholders.

I am sure investors will be lining up to thank CEO Dominic Keen for his sterling efforts on their behalf. Mr Keen

The Industrial Scale China stock Fraud in Fujian home to Naibu, China Chaintek and Camkids revealed

This article appeared in the Chinese publication  Caixin Online at Christmas 2012. Staff reporter Qu Yunyu has done a superb job. It should be required reading for the crony capitalists round at Daniel Stewart, Allenby Capital and Abchurch Communications as well as AIM Regulation and for anyone mad enough to hold shares in Naibu (NBU), Camkids (CAMK) or China Chaintek (CTEK). It is explicit about what has gone on. If you own shares in any of the Fujian companies on the AIM Casino you should sell them all at once. The article – with a few choice sections in bold from me -  reads:

MoPowered Group – A Disaster with Red Flags all over it – Is Death imminent?

MoPowered Group (MPOW) raised a gross £3.64 million at 100p when listing on the AIM Casino on December 18 2013. The shares now stand at 20.5p valuing this POS at just over £3.2 million. And while it says that it is going ahead with a £3.5 million fund raise you’d have to be mad to subscribe as this has red flags all over it. Death is all this deserves.

Of course £3.64 million did not go to the company. The admission document reveals that the cost of the IPO and fundraising was a staggering £700,000. That will have paid for an awful lot of hookers and coke at offices of brokers, Nomads, PRs, accounts and lawyers across the City last Christmas.  It is a staggering sum. So where are the shareholder’s coke and hookers?

Where are they? Oh don’t be stupid. We shareholders get no coke and hookers. This is AIM. This is crony capitalism. Our money is simply transferred to the Crony Capitalists of the City. The coke and hookers are all for the Square Mile, not for the peasants. We are just there to pay for them.

The AIM Casino is a Cesspit Cesspit of Crooks and Crony Capitalists and is dying – I’m off to meet real snakes before I vomit

Yesterday evening I was doing a bit of frigana chopping at the Greek Hovel and I heard a rustling in the bush I was approaching. I know enough by now to realise what was making the noise and beat a hasty retreat. But the stench of corruption on AIM tells me where the real snakes operate. It is a cesspit for crooks and crony capitalists who systematically transfer wealth from the many (mug investors) to the few (themselves). I have had enough of this for one day and am heading back to the fields to face real snakes. They are less loathsome. There is a solution but the London Stock Exchange does nothing. It is guilty of abetting financial crime by its inaction.

GOTCHA! Naibu - The bombshell revelation - surely the shares must be suspended NOW

I do hope that someone round at Daniel Stewart, Nomad and Broker to AIM listed China fraud Naibu (NBU) has learned to read Chinese since the crony capitalists FAILED to do adequate due diligence on this POS before it listed. Because I have a little press cutting for you chaps from 2008. If you are not too busy spending the £600,000 you have made in fees from Naibu in the past 18 months you need to read it and then resign at once as Nomad and broker and have the shares suspended. This is a bombshell.

Redhall – yet another AIM Cesspit zombie: what is the point?

Another day and yet another profits warning from AIM listed specialist engineering group Redhall (RHL). This is a zombie company in that from an investor’s point of view it is just dead money. But it supports an army of crony capitalists, directors and various City parasites.

So let’s start with the profits warning. Redhall stated:

Outsourcery – When’s the rescue bailout? Crony Capitalists at work…

On 27th June, AIM listed Outsourcery (OUT) announced that it was holding a “Capital Markets Day.” Hmmm, this is an £12 million capitalised AIM listed POS with pretensions is it not? The company started with a raft of positive guff but then – if you had not fallen asleep and got to the bottom of the release – found that it was admitting that it was a year behind schedule and needs to raise cash this year to keep going. Now even prostitute researcher Edison is sticking the boot in – what it says and what management says look very different to me. Why would anyone refinance this train wreck?

The company describes itself thus: Outsourcery operates a highly disruptive business model as cloud-services increasingly remove the need for organisations of all sizes to consume co-location, managed services or small, purpose built private clouds.

Hmmmm all the right buzzwords in there (managed services, cloud, disruptive – a bonus for that one). Surely a sell signal.

AIM Awards 2014 – Nominate Kevin Ashton NOW for the Quindell note he did not publish & humiliate Canaccord

This October the Crony Capitalists who make money from AIM will gather to celebrate another year of making money as Nomads, brokers, PR advisers, lawyers and overpaid directors at a lavish awards dinner. The poor investors whose wealth has been transferred to the crony capitalists will not need to get their DJ’s cleaned as awards for “excellence” are handed out. But if any pissed off peasants want to revolt we suggest you nominate now for research of the year Mr Kevin Ashton.

Mr Ashton was a star analyst at Canaccord - the firm that sponsors this particular award and which earns big fees acting for Quindell (QPP). Mr Ashton refused

Minoan Placing at 12p – Insider Dealing on the AIM Cesspit

On 19th May shares in Minoan (MIN) traded at 16.375p on the AIM Cesspit. Then they started slipping and slipping and closed yesterday at 13.625p. Today a placing is announced at 12p. What do I conclude? That crony capitalists in the City are not content with buying stock at a discount but that they also engage in insider dealing. They break the law. Will the FCA do anything to stop the fuckers? What do you think?

Here is what happened. Minoan wanted to raise money for working capital and to buy bolt on Travel & Leisure businesses. It has targets and I expect news soon. It has a debt facility it can use but that has a warrant structure attached which makes it even more dilutive than a placing and so it asked its broker WH Ireland to tap up a few funds to buy stock at a discount. That process started in earnest last week.

The sort of folks

Peter Redmond quits as Leed Resources chairman – no need to go to AGM after all

I have written some harsh things about Peter Redmond, the chairman of AIM Cesspit listed Leed Resources (LDP) and bought £7.50 worth of shares in his company to attend its AGM today to ask questions and push for his departure. But I guess I am now free to lunch at Maribelle’s instead, because Redmond has this morning announced that he will be standing down as chairman after the AGM with immediate effect. Before I crow, I should say he has, today, acted with honour.

Some crony capitalists would have dismissed me as a crank and just carried on trousering the dosh. I chatted at great length to Redmond last night and I give him full marks for what he has done today. I may have been an agent of change at Leed, but for quitting as he has done I am now setting up the Official Peter Redmond fan club.

Redmond accepts that Leed has failed its investors. The blame for this should not just be levelled at Redmond but also
