It is the Bidstack (BIDS) thread and I fear that user555 and GirdZ will be hauled up and banned for life for posting something deemed more unacceptable than a Laurence Fox monologue on GB News. Yes…

I have never, for the record, watched GBNews. I rather dislike too many of its presenters who seem to revel as a low grade version of Fox. And some of them are frankly just plain stupid. But I note that it is regularly slammed by Ofcom for lack of balance. In that vein I bring you a twitter thread by the excellent David Collier covering a report by Sadiya Chowdhury covering a report on Sky News. Please read the thread and then ask yourself how, if Ofcom is itself balanced, can it not slate Sky for this garbage. as for Sky how on earth can it emplooy this fanatic and be taken seriously?

I wrote an article earlier explaining why folks should boycott the price uncompetitive seller of coffee pods and operator of coffee bars Grind. I am a loyal customer but will not be one going forward. On twitter, a stack of folks who had not read what I had written behind a paywall lined up me to attack me for what I had not said. It’s a free world, you can show yourself to be an arse by behaving that way if you want to.

For some reason right wing media darling and GB News regular Sophie Corcoran has deleted the tweet below. I just can’t quite put my finger on what glaring gem of historical ignorance she is trying to hide as Ash makes a perfectly fair comment about Word War One quoting from the Sassoon poem Attack.

That is not what she actually said that thaat is exactly what Nana meant as she opined on the Government’s plans to hike National Insurance payments to pay for more care for old folks. As I outlined HERE this is nonsense, it is robbing from the poor and young to subsidise older flks who have benefitted from years of house price inflation which keeps young folks and the poor ever further from owning even a tiny flat.

In today’s podcast, I discuss the two big media stories of the week: GB News getting no viewers at all at some stage last week and the idea that social media posters should have to disclose their identity. That is where the rent boys (non) issue comes up.

IKEA has become the latest firm to respond to woke snowflake tantrums and to pull its adverts from the little watched news channel GB News. It says that Andrew Neil’s channel does not share its “humanistic” values without being able to cite one instance from its 60 hours on air of why this is the case. As well as being a betrayal of free speech this is rank hypocrisy from a company operating four stores in Saudi Arabia.

I should be the ideal target for Andrew Neil’s new GB News which launched last night. I am right of centre, think the BBC is a disgrace, Channel 4 is fake news and that ITV is woke nonsense whose reporting of Trump should have been an imprisonable offence. And for that reason gave up on TV news a while back. But I did not watch GB News last night. And I doubt I ever will. Despite its celebrating winning the ratings war, here’s a secret: I am far from alone. Here are the stats GB News is celebrating:

If you want to watch TV news in the UK, your choice is essentially the BBC, ITV, Sky or Channel 4 “fake” News. All were overtly anti-Brexit, anti-Trump and are left-leaning – the presenters do not hide their views. On a range of issues including the bogus religion of global warming, the demands of the Trans community, the “largely peaceful” riots of BLM and the need to mask up everywhere and not challenge lockdown, the broadcast media sings from the same hymn sheet. For many of us who supported Brexit, don’t want our teenage daughter sharing a post basketball shower with a six foot girl with a beard and a cock called Barry, who – like just under half the Yanks – supported Trump or who might have voted Tory last time (apologies to folks here in Wrexham, I do regret it), there is no news broadcaster for us. Andrew Neil will soon launch GB News.
