Just when I think that the deadwood press can sink no lower in terms of churning out PR bilge along comes along Harriet Green of CityAM. She has just blown off Jonny Hon of Gate Ventures (GATE) infamy with a slavish profile making him out to be Asia’s equivalent of Pope John Paul 2nd. Does this bimbo want a job in PR or is she just too dim and/or lazy to do some basic research. Lucian Miers has sent her an email.

Are these folks certifiably insane or is this parody? You really just do not know these days but this post has it all: a blinding faith in Rob Terry, total lack of historic knowledge, ludicrous bid story, technical analysis, total innumeracy and the Harriet Green to be CEO story. Could this be the most brainless Bulletin Board Moron yet or is just an attempt at humour. Given how many loons here are out there I suspect the former and Jerry2Toes is the Bulletin Board Moron of the day. From the ADVFN Asylum I bring you:

Sadly Thomas Cook (TCG) did not as I had hoped serve up a profits warning today. Its shares are broadly unchanged at 122p but its trading statement is far from inspiring and the City knives are still out for PR obsessed CEO Harriet Green. She cannot afford to slip.

I have predicted it before but predict again – the imminent trading statement from Thomas Cook (TCG) will be a profits warning. Of that I am certain. My question is whether its self-important and image obsessed CEO Harriet Green gets a one way ticket out of the building the same day.
The share price chart implies that all is not well at Cook. The shares have nose-dived from 180p at the start of May to just over 120p now. Anecdotally I hear that most Travel Agents had a dire June as folks contemplated the World Cup rather than two weeks in Ibiza. I expect this to be confirmed by Cook shortly.
When Cook was a glory recovery play the fact that Harriet Green was obsessed with her own PR – as much as that of the company – did not matter. But now that the merde is hitting the fan she will find that that obsession of hers will make her vulnerable.

A former leading transport analyst who still retains a very high City profile has this morning launched a blistering attack on Harriet Green the self-publicity addicted CEO of Thomas Cook (TCG). Is this just sexism in the City or is this fair comment. Read on and judge for yourself. Our man writes:
