Do not get misunderstand me. Christmas at the Welsh Hovel will not be a dry celebration of the birth of Christ. We too, will tuck into a bird (duck), will enjoy Christmas Pudding and brandy butter. Santa will be left with a glass of Metaxa and a mince pie and will reward good boys, girls, adults and cats with a full stocking. There will be presents for all under our tree which is currently sitting in the garden where it lives for 49 weeks a year as I am a bit of a closet greenie. Indeed, in an unusual burst of efficiency, the main presents for the Mrs and Joshua are already here. However in this household we know what we are celebrating.

I am not sure if journalists at the Financial Times believe in free speech any more. After all, on every major issue in history, the pink paper shows itself not to be on the side of business or even sanity but the mouthpiece of smug elitist North London metropolitan liberals. That is to say on the wrong side of history. Thus, 24 hours after a French teacher was beheaded by an Islamist extremist for daring to practice and teach the virtues of free speech, I bring you an October 2 tweet from the FT’s man in Brussels. It has not aged well and is yet another reason for the dwindling readership of this sad publication to think again about their subscription.

Jobs or Mobs. that is America's choice on November 6 and for their own sake I hope they vote for jobs and that means for the GOP. It is the booming economy which sees Donald Trump's personal approval rating at 50%, far higher than Obama's rating two years in. And it is why Trump's approval rating among black voters hit 40% this week, the highest for a GOP leader in more than sixty years. Boy how do the liberals in Hollywood with their narrative of Trump the racist explain that one? Anyhow, enjoy the video.

Do not get me wrong. After the battles of the last few weeks I am delighted that Brett Kavanaugh has been appointed to the Supreme Court. Quite simply the Democratic Party tried to subvert the constitution with a hit job, an orchestrated smear. A good man fought back and, eventually the lack of tangible evidence and gaping holes in the testimony of the accusers meant that the Senate had to ratify. For that, and the tears of a mob of pathetic snowflakes, D list celebs, angry and snarling feminists and others with full blown #TrumpDerangementSyndrome, gives me great joy this weekend. However…

The Hollywood liberal multi-millionaires havn’t given a standing ovation like the one De Niro got at the Tony’s last night, since the last time they feted the child rapist Roman Polanski on a big stage. Maybe Harvey Weinstein got close as they lauded his contribution to the arts, while all knowing what a monster he was, but that is showbiz for you.

You may not be aware of "Love island" but it is trash reality TV and oh, well just use your imagination. It is more about sex than love but "sex island" is not such a catchy name. You may also not be a Sun Reader. Nor am I normally but just now and then Rod Liddle tempts me in. In case you are not a Sun Reader I offer you a few words from his latest column which is the work of a genius.

It is trending on twitter after the millionaire liberals with a holiday home next to that of Vice President Mike Pence draped a flag with this message over his dustbins.

No comment on the cartoon below is needed from me. I suspect that the liberals who inhabit the swamp that is British & American academia would not find this funny or even understand the joke.

Having failed to lay a glove on Trump senior for getting help from the Russians during hos election triumph, the Democrats and their allies in the liberal media fake news departments tried to show he was blocking their futile investigations. That failed too. Now the Dems really are clutching at straws.

A van ploughing into a busy crowds, men getting out to cut throats and stab. Jeepers you don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out it is an Islamofascist terror attack but the BBC refused to say as much for painful hour and hour. Indeed it stated repeatedly that it was wrong to speculate. Then came the bombshell. An eyewitness on the phone said the men were shouting "This is for Allah" as they stabbed away.

Yesterday was a day of two halves. First the good type 2 diabetic. Raw oats and a small banana for breakfast was followed by a fishing expedition. The Mrs and i walked to a small deserted harbour about a mile away so that I could put the rod borrowed from our host, Bjorn, into action. No kidding, he really is Bjorn from Sweden.

"We have never had a female President we need one now" they said. "But she is an appalling and dreadful woman" we countered and then she lost. " A big reason was sexism, it was because she was a woman, the glass ceiling is still there " They said.

When you see that a conference which claims to be business focussed, as is the PRI In Person jamboree in Singapore, but is in fact "supported by the United Nations" you know that it will be a nest of vipers seeking to enrich the 1% at the expense of the 99%. At this point I quote Ayn Rand

There is now clear evidence that British special forces are on the ground in Syria assisting Free Syrian Army (FSA) jihadists. The BBC spins a Government lie and reports this as being in a fight against ISIS.. But the FSA is, of course, also fighting President Assad''s Government and its Russian and Syrian allies. This is madness.

Thanks to the second most politically switched on CEO on AIM (after pure crystal libertarian Richard Poulden) for sending over this piece by Russell Taylor which is so excellent I just reproduce it in full. Over to Mr Taylor.
It’s not often you get abuse for paying someone a compliment, but try telling a liberal-lefty that the poor are resourceful, resilient and capable. What a terrible accusation! How dare you suggest that they are anything other than hapless cretins, incapable of standing on their own two feet? Can’t you see that these people need help? Why not bring back the workhouses and be done with it?
To liberals, writing-off the poor as weak and vulnerable, then showering them with excuses and hand-outs, is the acme of bigheartedness. Never mind how patronising this is, or how it makes a mockery of their egalitarian pretensions; as far as liberals are concerned, it is the final word in compassion.
You can bet your bottom dollar that liberals don’t think of themselves as possessing the poor’s frailties. When they attend their chichi gatherings, to swap pieties and compare egos, they never refer to the poor as their brethren: as people who share their ambitions, their powers of discernment or their self-sufficiency. They might have all the sympathy in the world for them, but they never for a moment consider them their equals.
Liberals love poverty, because it’s a goldmine for them.
