Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Another disaster from Andrew Monk and an excruciating video from the disgraced broker

I start with a few thoughts on getting old as Olaf suffers her last ever Oxford tutorial. Then it is onto SVB, an apology to Euro loon Jonathan Price – let this be the last – and a few words on Aferian (AFRN). Then, after today’s ouzo moment as the fuzz arrest a fraudster whose company I have exposed, onto the disaster that is Tungsten West (TUN). This company was IPO’d by the Monkey and VSA to monetize and asset first discovered in 1867 and which has flopped more times since 1916 than Monk might care to admit. I discuss its financial woes, VSA’s research coverage and bring you a video featuring Monk dressed as a road builder and celebrating the endorsement of Liz Truss. It is excruciating. Then I cover Ariana Resources (AAU), Condor Gold (CNR) and Chesterfield Resources (CHF) and how some disposals are just so misleading.

Union Jack Oil – spot the difference competition

With a hat tip to our own Gary Newman I bring you two screen shots from Union Jack Oil (UJO), the company run by journalist trolling David Bramhill. One was a statement it made after Liz Truss ended the fracking ban. The second is a tweet issued by the troll and his company after Rishi Sunak moved to re-ban fracking. Now can you spot the difference? As a tie break in case that proves too easy, in 100 words might you explain in the comments section below, why such commentary makes Mr Bramhill suitable to run a public lavatory let alone a public company?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - it is not all the fault of Liz Truss

I started with Ms Truss and how it is not her fault that the UK is in the mess that it is in. The entire media and political class is to blame. The it is onto Naked Wines (WINE), why action MUST be taken at the fraud Verditek (VDTK) and finally a long look at Amaroq Minerals (AMRQ) and a sort of look across at Kefi (KEFI) which also had news today.

Happy Birthday Uncle Christopher Booker

My late uncle had a facebook page, thanks to his eldest son and, though he died more than three years ago, I wake up to a reminder to wish him Happy Birthday. He would have been 85 today and would, no doubt, have thought the world had become an even sillier place since his death. For starters there have been massive advances in the numbers of women with penises ands facial hair over the past three years. And our Universities have made great strides in purging Shakespeare and other dead white authors from the curriculum and eradicating folks with any link, however obscure to the evils of colonialism from the history books. All hail progress!

Is this peak Guardian insanity: Liz Truss is a fascist because....

I am the first to say how dreadful Liz Truss is at almost every level, not least the way she portrays herself as the new Thatcher when she so obviously is not in every way. But some attacks on her are just hugely unfair and plain bonkers. Yes I refer to the dreadful, offshore owned, tax avoiding, Guardian, the paper that supported the slavers in the South in the US Civil War and which spouts a non stop diet of left wing bilge. Is this peak Guardian madness?

Tom Winnifrith postcard: The 23 September UK Budget: Economic illiteracy, utterly inequitable and unfair and NOT what Mrs Thatcher would have done

In this podcast, I reflect on the Kwasi Kwarteng, Liz Truss mini budget. I am amazed and how badly the right wing commentariat has called it for it was mean and unjust and economically illiterate. It is not what Mrs Thatcher would have done and was a betrayal of her brand of conservatism and of the poor, working and middle classes too. It was just awful at every level and should form the basis of an electoral rout for the Tories in two years which will be fully deserved.
