Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: what a wicked world we live in, I despair

The phone call that was today’s person from Porlock was my mother-in-law who had just come home from an appointment to find smashed windows in her house just across the river from here. My 93 year old father-in-law, deaf as a post, had slept while burglars stole everything of value throughout the house. What a world we live in. From that I move onto the scandals of Dave Richards and Wandisco (WAND), Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL), Miriad (MIRI), Bidstack (BIDS), Supply@ME Capital (SYME) and Oxford Nanopore (ONT) and dual US listings.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - another hour with the Police

No BBMs do not get too excited. It is not me for I have done nothing wrong. My discussions were about the obscene email one such moron sent me last Friday. After that I discuss IOG (IOG), pointing you to two tweets from morons below and the share price chart. I await apologies for I am never short but am usually right. IOG is very possibly a zero, today’s update is grim. Then it is onto Mirriad Advertising (MIRI), Cloudbreak Discovery (CDL) and its disgraced CEO, Unbound (UBG) , MGC Pharmaceutics (MXC) and Flip Flop’s Kavango Resources (KAV) and why Ben Turney should be sacked in disgrace.

I am not sure about the home made honey ice cream, I shall report back tomorrow. Meanwhile I discuss Mirriad (MIRI), Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL), valuing oil E&P plays, Zephyr Energy (ZPHR), today’s ouzo moment with Scotgold (SGZ), target price 0p and a full investigation by AIM regulation and the FCA, and Totally (TLY

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: A day of amazing bravery and triumph for me at the Greek Hovel

Happy Good Friday from Greece. I describe my amazing triumph and then go on to discuss Carnival (CCL), Superdry (SDY), Minoan (MIN), Mirriad (MIRI), Ince Group (INCE), how companies that admit they are failing end up in a vicious circle and more. There may not be a Bearcast Saturday, it all depends on what time I make it back to Wales.

Mirriad statement – it is totally screwed: Told y'all! Ouzos all round at Sheriff Towers

On 20th January 2023 serial dog Mirriad (MIRI) put itself up for sale. Guess what? Absolutely nobody is interested. Well knock me down with a feather. Anyone wanting to buy the technology that has spunked so much cash over the years only need wait for administration.

Mirriad – update on Formal Sale Process, next update April Fool’s Day?

Once again we are watching the death throes of a company where Steve Moore and myself have warned you for years as you can see HERE. On 20th January Mirriad (MIRI) announced those words no shareholder wants to hear “strategic review.”. In plain English, we are fecked and the Fat lady is checking her diary.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Zamaz shares collapse, the FCA disgraces itself again

In today’s Bearcast I look at Zamaz (ZAMZ), Love Hemp (LIFE), Mirriad (MIRI) and in depth at Versarien (VRS) as its shares slide again ahead of what will be appalling results and an auditors warning within 10 days. Neill Ricketts…it could not happen to a nicer bloke.

Mirriad puts itself up for sale as it admits it is running out of cash ( again)

Mirriad Advertising (MIRI) today uttered the two words that should strike fear into the hearts of all investors: “strategic review.” That is stockmarket speak for “the game is up we are fucked.” Sure it tried to sugar the pill by initiating a formal sales process (FSP) and putting itself up for sale. Hey Cheryl darling I am waiting, ready, free and available.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Why Mirriad is a zero and another reason why the cheerleading by Andrew Monk for Aquis is wrong: Love Hemp

Andrew Monk of VSA, who no longer speaks to me but only to deadwood press journalists who blow smoke up his arse, keeps on saying how wonderful Aquis is and how it will replace AIM. But it cannot unless it addresses the long tail of garbage listed there. I mention a few names but focus in on today’s statement from Love Hemp (LIFE). It is possibly the worst trading statement I have ever seen from a listed company. I then discuss why Mirriad (MIRI) may say it has £11m cash but why it is a zero.

Could you run a business that manages to burn £8.13 of cash for every £1 it makes in sales?

I am not sure that I could. Morally I’d feel bad about it and actually to be quite so useless not just in the year gone by but over five years as a listed company would be really hard work. Welcome to the world of Mirriad Advertising (MIRI) about which Steve and I have been bearish for half a decade. Today came another piss poor trading update.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Hanging is too good for them but at least how about a suspension

I mention, en passant, our next PM the economically illiterate Rishi Sunak and how boorish I find Tory MPs. Then I look at Vast Resources (VAST), Pure Gold (PUR), Mirriad (MIRI), Deepverge (DVRG) and Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) and the fat conceit that is Crispin Odey.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Canadian Overseas Petroleum - absolutely desperate debt facility is NOT what was promised

Anyone who invests in a company run by serial value destroyer Arthur Milholland is asking for it. After deceiving investors ahead of its last placing, his latest vehicle for self enrichment, Canadian Overses Petroleum (COPL) has today served up a new debt structure which is so utterly horrible it tells you just how badly Milholland and Canadian are perceived. I discuss this, the shambles at Mirriad (MIRI), Eden Research (EDEN) and at cash strapped Asimilar (ASLR).

Another dire warning from Mirriad – bonuses for what FFS? Sack the CEO Now, this is a disgrace!

The half year trading update from Mirriad Advertising (MIRI) out this morning is truly appalling and it shows that those running the company are living in a parallel universe of self-entitlement. This company which has never turned a cent of profit and whose revenues have always been less than your average East Midlands corner store, pays bonuses. Bonuses for what FFS?

Ouzo for the perma bears – Mirriad shares tank on dire numbers and piss poor excuses

I warned comrade Malcolm Stacey and you all that his March 7 enthusiasm for advertising group Mirriad (MIRI) was misplaced and dire results with a piss poor set of excuses vindicate this perma bear once again. Crack out the ouzo.  At 21p, down 14% so far today, the market cap is £59 million making this still a stonking short.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Warned that I must not talk about sucking PR cock even with reference to the FT which does!

Apparently, the chap from the FT may object to me reminding those at the April 5 Woodford event that his paper, like the wretched Mail on Sunday, Daily Mail, Sunday Times et al DID suck Woodford’s PR cock.  Elsewhere, I discuss Red Rock Resources (RRR); Skibiotherapeutics (SBTX); Amigo (AMGO); Avacta (AVCT); Inspirit (INSP); and Mirriad Advertising (MIRI).

I am shortly off to Tesco then will be in action as the family cook. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Placing alerts on Union Jack & Wildcat Petroleum

I have an update on the Union Jack (UJO) placing which I forced it to ‘fess up to last Friday and I can now reveal that worthless ramp Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT) is now seeking fresh equity at almost any price. At 1p, a £21 million market cap is about £21 million too high in my book. I also discuss Jubilee Metals (JLP) and Mark Slater and that links nicely to an IPO I am dodging and I explain why I am passing on what appeared a likeable and competent team. Finally a detailed look at perennial dog Mirriad (MIRI) whose shares are – despite slipping 10% today – still a stonking sell.

Then I look at Mirriad (MIRI) and ADVFN (AFN) parallels. Finally Amigo (AMGO) where the directors make threats that would be ruinous for them personally if they implement them. As ever, if you are bored, why not donate to a wonderful cause HERE.

I discuss the strange lack of news from the stricken Gervais Williams Smaller Companies Fund and what it means then look at Eurasia (EUA) en passant, Miriad (MIRI) in some detail and the horrible problem poor Bobbie Hilliam of Quindell (QPP) infamy faces with Versarien (VRS) after today’s shocking expose.

Mirriad parts company with CEO just 9 months after disastrous IPO, cash spunk up to £1m pcm

Cynical Bear warned you that the 62p per share, £63 million, IPO of Mirriad Advertising (MIRI) would cause tears before bedtime. Obviously not for IP Group (IPO) which was able to justify its daft pre IPO investments in relation to that crackers listing price. Nor for Nomad and broker Numis or PR parasites Hudson Sandler which will have earned fat fees for the listing. Coke and hookers all round for the crony capitalists.  But for anyone dumb enough to buy the stock since the IPO this has been a horror show. The shares are now just 30p mid, they have more than halved in ten months on the AIM Casino. So what’s today’s news? It is bad, natch.
