There is an opinion poll out today showing Labour leading the Tories whose support is collapsing. Why vote Labour Light when you can vote for the real thing? Or if you are a Thatcherite, as I am, how can you bring yourself to vote for a Tory party that would disgust and repel every bone in the body of the blessed Margaret. The Tory party of the serial liar Boris is corrupt with party donors paying for his home furnishings and picking up soft sinecures and lucrative PPE contracts but, as bad, it has abandoned so much of what Thatcher believed in, including basic common sense. My day job is exposing fraud. How can I vote for such obvious frauds? The article below first appeared in my free weekly Tomograph newsletter which you can sign up to receive HERE.

I do not specialise in spotting the ways that the BBC insults those folks forced under threat of jail to cough up £157.50 a year, whether they watch or listen to its ghastly content or not. But it would be an all too easy way to spend my life for the BBC is its own worst enemy. Its grossly overpaid staff live in a woke bubble where they seem unable to recognise just how out of touch their values are with those of the vast majority of the population.

In the sport of Rugby the World governing body did something that was, on the surface of it, quite brave: it commissioned a scientific study on transgender women playing the sport. To the surprise of nobody with half a brain cell, the report showed that people born as men but who had transitioned would, even if they took hormone reducing drugs, be faster and stronger than what World Rugby terms cis-women. Or, what you and I just term women. And worse. If real women played against trans athletes, the study showed that their risk of serious injury increased by 30%. As such World Rugby is not going to allow trans women to play against women born as women and is using safety as its excuse. That offers a get out of jail card to any contact sport to do the same.

However bad our leaders are in this country, my colleague Darren Atwater cannot truly laugh as he is Canadian. And the Canadian PM, Justin Trudeau is a truly pathetic figure. His attempts to dance Indian style made Theresa May’s dancing Queen seem kind of cool. Perhaps more importantly he has helped to train wreck the economy, is mired in corruption scandals and is the crown prince of “high woke”. Seriously, Titantia McGrath could not compete with a chap who wore Happy Eid socks to the LGBT parade. Oddly, and for reasons I cannot quite put my finger on, Justin did not wear LGBT socks to the Eid celebrations. There are allegations of sexual harassment against Justin but none of this matters to the liberal media because he is just so incredibly woke. Justin can get away with anything.

Project Greta Thunberg is a fraud. I do not blame the poor 16 year old Swedish girl who predicts that we have just months to save the planet from irreversible global warming, for she is quite obviously very unwell and also being manipulated. She is part of a fraud but right now the great and the good simply sit back and bask in the glory of the liberal media as they admire Emperor Greta’s new, planet friendly, clothes.

I start today's podcast with an expansion on the themes in today's Tomograph, why I am so depressed about the currupt and rotten state of the West. I discuss Kenmare (KMR) and naked NEDs and then look at Neil Woodford with reference to today's IPO of Proton Partners (PPI). If this was any other fund manager the FCA would have moved in to replace him by now. If you enjoyed this podcast please support the EIGHT rogue bloggers for Woodlarks with a small donation HERE

I suppose I should declare a bit of an interest in the annual ritual that is the bashing of Oxford University as an institution run by elitist snobs who hate poor people, in that my daughter Olaf spent last week in the City of my birth facing interview panels. We will find out whether she has got in on or around 9 January. But the press, this week, has been all over Oxford as it emerged that, last year, eight of our poshest fee-paying schools managed to get more folks into Oxford last year than the bottom 75% of British schools.

On Friday, the Irish voted to legalize abortion at up to 12 weeks. It is now Sunday and the BBC - my only English language TV here in Greece - is still covering this story with a manic obsession. "What a modern nation Ireland has become: a gay PM, abortion on demand, the Church in tatters, cue picture of joyous crowds." Okay, it does not mention its joy at the collapse of the Irish church but it makes its views clear with pictures of nuns scuttling away from polling stations looking miserable.

No prizes for last week’s contest as the standard of entry too low. Jon Pickles where for art thou? To be honest my mind is a bit of a blank. As I describe in the Tomograph this week I am a bit frazzled as I work 28 hours a day ahead of a summer clearing trees and installing basic sanitation in the hovel in Greece that the Mrs has bought. And so my mind wanders to three months sitting in the hovel pondering how to get the eco-loo and humanure system up and running and watching the world go by at a Greek pace of life.
I shall naturally relay the full details of how a humanure system works to you all exclusively on this website. It will be gripping reading I assure you.
And so in that vein, I invite you to post suitable captions for the picture below in the comments section beneath this article. The deadline is next Friday night.
For what it is worth my mind is so frazzled that the best I can come up with is a rather predictable:
“Hey we are goats not sheep, the Quindell AGM is in the next field.”

I lost my voice screaming at Upton Park yesterday so no videos are possible – I sound like I have gargled razor blades. And I am afraid that there is no Tomograph newsletter either. Today I have been flat out at Maribelle’s.
And next week I am also more or less on writing holiday. Steve and Ben are in charge, this is Maribelle’s week.
The signs went up last week. The carpenters finished this morning and, this afternoon, Darren, myself and Maribelle herself have been flat out unpacking alcohol, setting up the till, printing off menus, moving chairs. The work will continue late into tonight and will start again tomorrow first thing as Darren pucks up some rather unusual artwork which with our new wine & tapas bar will be decorated. We open at 1 PM and close at 11 PM Monday to Friday starting tomorrow.
I
n a brief break Mirabelle and I enjoy a bottle of Estrella Galicia, a Spanish lager which is not half bad… now back to laying out the tables. Naturally I would be delighted to see any blog readers at Maribelle’s this week. We are at 91-95 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1R 5BX, underneath the Real Man Pizza Company quirky Italian restaurant, and I am in residence all week.
Oh and here is a view of a well-stocked bar.

I am now in Corfu preparing for five days of rest and writing before my deluded lefty partner arrives to whisk me off to the former socialist paradise that is Albania. I travelled here by bust from Athens – a 10 hour trip and so feel a little on the tired said as we arrived at 5 AM. Athens Bus station is a total shit hole. It is what I imagine that Stoke on Trent is like. Only hotter.
I arrived early (fleeing the clip joint) to buy my ticket and wandered into a ticket hall with a desk for each location. At that point there were four of us trying to buy tickets and I counted 11 staff manning the desks.
The Corfu counter had no-one behind it but a full ashtray (in a non-smoking building) and cup of coffee suggested that there was life somewhere. But fear not,

What a week. The busiest of the year for Real Man Pizza saw all hands to the pump even though we were fullt staffed. Writing had to take a bit of a back seat and I am also tidying up a few lose ends as I prepare to head out to Gatwick for a 5.30 AM flight to Corfu to be followed by a 12 hiour bust journey to Athens. It sounds like madness but there is a logic behind it.
However the copy is flowing again and will ramp up once I arrive in Greece for nine days alone ahead of my partner's arrival. And so the weekly Tomograph will go out tonight.

What a week. I feel that I have given David Cameron both barrels in the Tomograph and so what else to feature in this week’s caption contest? The retirement of that miserable old toad Sir Alex Fergie? Nope I have sworn to leave that alone since the mainstream media is obsessed by it? The looming bankruptcy of Spain? Prince Harry in the US? Nope it has to be the tragedy come comedy that is US Oil & Gas (USOP).
The prize for this week’s caption contest? Rather like the prize for owning USOP shares there is none. But feel free to post whatever caption you feel appropriate in the comments section below for this little picture.

It seems like just yesterday that Easyjet dropped us off at the one airport on this Island. We were the only plane on the Tarmac and the terminal was 75 yards away. Naturally we waited 5 minutes for a bus to arrive to take us to the terminal. All must have non jobs.
I will offer a few more thoughts up on Greece but the flagpole is on the sea about fifty yards from where we are staying. It is not a bad view to wake up to. But this has been an all too brief stay and today we wend our way back towards the airport and tomorrow it is back to Britain. Farewell to the oil lake, to the wild dill, to Greek salads every meal, to the terrapins in the stream nearby and to Marlboro Lights at 3.90 Euro a packet. Farewell to a life of getting up at 4 AM your time to write on my PC on the balcony overlooking the sea while my partner snoozes.
Normal writing services resume as of Sunday evening. The Tomograph will be back next Wednesday. Meanwhile Darren will continue to load videos from the UK Investor Show onto both ADVFN and to Shareprophets.com - next up is Christopher Booker.
This has been a good place to think. An announcement is pending. Ho. Ho. Ho.

I never thought I’d find myself wring this but someone close to Harrods’s owner the Phony Pharaoh is talking common sense. The man is Michael Ward the managing director of the ghastly West London emporium and he has lashed out at the mainstream political parties on the subject of immigration. His point is that the Labour/Conservative alliance are so terrified of being soft on immigration that they are making it damn hard for those we would all like to move here to actually get in. Spot on.
The British public has no problem with folks turning up here who wish to work hard, pay taxes etc. The problem we all have is those who turn up in the UK and then become a drain on the State. Frankly we have enough Heather Frost type home grown talent in that department without needing to import any.
But in order to be seen to be tough on immigration the mainstream parties have both supported policies such as reducing the number of highly skilled migrants who are allowed in each year. My ex-girlfriend is an Indian National. She is highly skilled, has never claimed a penny in benefits and paid vast amounts in tax. Yet

This article first appeared in my bi-weekly free Tomograph newsletter. I guess it now merits a wider audience. If you would like more of the same sent to you by email (including a free share tip in the midweek issue) sign up HERE. In the old days when the Conservative party was led by a proper Tory ( i.e. Margaret Thatcher) it used to believe that the individual should be given the freedom to take responsibility for himself or herself. That meant the State not relieving you of too much money but also not being expected to cosset you, but providing a safety net for those who genuinely needed it. Those days are gone.
We saw this in dramatic form this week as Call Me Dave scrapped plans to increase the IHT threshold but at the same time caved in on giving more state funding for residential care for the elderly. He was wrong ( as per usual) on both counts, pandering to the electorate and in so trashing further any idea that he is a man of true conservative principle.

I had just finished a hectic shift in the kitchen at Real Man Pizza. It was one of those days when folks seemed not to want pizza but pasta or a lamb dish or chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce. And who can blame them? But that mean that for me and our new cook it was a hectic session downstairs (Thursday is always a busy day) with a lot of swearing and running around. The other cook seems to think that I am the master chef and can give him handy hints about how we do things differently in London as opposed to in Italy. I have tried to explain but we are at least cooking well together.
And so I just wandered among the tables being a genial “Mein host” or whatever the Italian version of that is and some chap says “are you Tom?” Oh heck. Does he want to ask me what I think the right share price is for JKX Oil & Gas (I do not know before you ask) or something complex. But no. The chap said he loved reading the Tomograph and had brought a friend along to see what this place was like given how much I rabbit on about this place in the Newsletter. I hope that he was not disappointed. That is the first time this has happened and it has been the highlight of the day.
A bright point worth sharing.

I am told that quite a few followers of mine from t1ps.com days hate twitter and would like more regular alerts on my share material. And so as of this week, I shall be making the Tomograph a twice weekly newsletter. The Saturday edition will stay as it is. But the Wednesday edition will include:
1. Editor’s (that my) choice. Links to the three most interesting pieces of the past week produced across the free to access sites I write for
2. A free share tip. A tip will go up on one of those sites 1 minute before the Tomograph goes live. It may be from me or it might just be from one of the guest writers who will be appearing here in the New Year. The only way to get the alert on that tip is via the Tomograph.
3. Links to ALL the share based articles that have appeared on the website in the previous seven days in descending order of popularity.
4. A short piece from me on an investment related theme.
Going forward all Tomograph newsletters will be archived in arrears. So if you want to be kept informed and get the alerts on time for the free share tips and the other material you need to register.
I stress that I am not going to sell this list. It is for Tomograph purposes only.

There is also a run down on the most popular pieces on the blog over the past three weeks in case you missed them.
You can access this issue of the Tomograph here.
You can access an archive of past issues here.
And you can register to get the Tomograph emailed direct to your inbox by filling in your email address in the box in the top Right Hand corner of this website. I am sure you can find it.

This is the last Tomograph for three weeks as I start to make my way back to England. If you are a registered user of the site you will by now have it in your email inbox. It contains an exclusive piece on why Greece’s strong arm policy on illegal immigrants is so misguided.
It also recaps the top ten stories on the blog this week in terms of readership and gives a reminder of the caption contest where so far Nick Bubb, the retail guru, is a strong contender.
You can download this week’s Tomograph here.
You can download archived past issues here.
And in case you do not read our best of the web section (RH of the blog half way down), and have finished your supper, I suggest you have a look now at what has to be the top story of the day from Japan.

If you are registered with this site (use the box near the top right hand corner) you are sent the Tomograph automatically once a week with a recap of the most viewed articles of the past seven days plus a bit more including one article exclusive to the Tomograph.
This week’s issue carries a piece on another mad nanny state proposal from someone who should know far better.
You can access the latest edition by clicking here.
You can access archived editions by clicking here.
Feel free to forward the Tomograph onto a friend who might be interested.
Best wishes

The Tomograph is the weekly newsletter sent out by this blog. To make sure that you get a copy register for the site in that little box near the top RH side of your screen. You can view the archive here and read this week’s edition here.
As well the caption contest and links to the 10 most read pieces on the blog this week, The Tomograph will always contain a brand new piece – on this occasion on coping with rejection. Fear not, it was not a big rejection, I coped and I find pleasure in it.
After a day of writing mainly about the bloody Olympics, tomorrow I am to polish off a new share tip to appear here during market hours on Monday. To get a real time alert to that tip you need to follow me on twitter – there will be no email alert.
