The rule here in North Wales is that you need to call our local surgery over in England at 8 AM to get an appointment. The Mrs has had a chesty cough for three weeks so – according to in the interweb – needs some antibiotics and thus a scrip. So she started calling at 8 AM. The line was engaged.

There was a mad old coot sitting in the middle of the road yesterday explaining how she was doing it to stop the world running out of oxygen. I kid you not. It turned out that this woman aged 61 was a retired GP. She had quit a while back to concentrate on saving the planet and the point is that after years troughing it and with a bumper, taxpayer funded pension, she could afford to quit at an age when nearly all of us still face years at the coalface.

Shares in utterly bankrupt and worthless Intu (INTU) are up by 10% today. It is one of those days when folks just assume the best in everything. The worst recession since the 1930s, sod all earnings visibility, looming mass unemployment? Who cares? Just Fill Yer Boots! In that vein, shares in Cineworld (CINE) are up by 44% at 57p despite a dismal Covid update telling us nothing we need to know at all. Other than that the board are greedy bastards and you & I are subsidising that greed!

Britain’s best known GP, the late Dr Harold Shipman was no slacker and worked all hours on behalf of the “envy of the world” that is the NHS. But a survey out today shows just how unusual such patient commitment is in Shipman’s profession.

The baby has again turned around and so the Mrs is back in hospital. as we are now only five days short of due date I guess this is the final stint. I am finding it very hard to bite my lip as I experience the NHS first hand.

The excitement of the junior doctors strike is over. The pampered and overpaid apprentices, training to be in the top 3% of wage earners (for a 40 hour week) said it was not about money but about saving the poor old NHS. So the Government offered them more cash and the greedy bastards stopped striking and threatening to emigrate en masse. Shame. So next up in the public sector summer of fun are the University Lecturers who are having the day off today and tomorrow.
I write as the son and husband of a lecturer so am fully aware of how much work they do. Or rather how little. And they are well paid for doing very little. They have more or less complete job security unless they commit a heinous offence like questioning global warming or liking UKIP on their facebook page.

Finally Nyota Minerals (NYO) has agreed to an EGM to vote on bringing on new directors ( who are credible) and ousting the old board who have been grossly overpaid and have trashed this company. The old board has wriggled for two months in order to extract yet more in fees and will leave the bank account empty when voted out, as they surely will be. We already know that the owners of 40% plus of the equity want the greedy useless bastards out. But still the bastards wriggle.

Once again the junior doctors are on a 48 hour strike. As a reminder: junior doctors are among the top 21% of all UK workers in terms of earnings. When they finish their apprenticeship and become full greedy bastards (sorry doctors) they will - for a 40 hour week - be in the top 2-3% of earners. Most other professionals in that wage bracket (lawyers, banksters, accountants) put in shifts of at least 50% more. And they don't also expect us to worship them as saints and maytrs while trousering obscene wages.
But the junior greedy bastards want more moolah so we have a 48 hour strike. Patients (79% of whom earn less than the junior greedy bastards) will suffer, nurses ( nearly all of whom earn less than than junior greedy bastards and who will not be in the top 2-3% of earners when they hit their mid thirties) will work harder and suffer. But we are meant to support the junior saints and latter day martyrs anyway?
Junior doctors are almost entirely pampered middle class kids. Most junior doctors

Once again the middle class kids serving a very well paid apprenticeship before qualifying to join one of the best paid closed shops in Britain, with guaranteed job security, are on strike again. Don't bash the doctors they, are all saints who just care about patients and the NHS say the lefties - if you criticise them who are a fascist who is on ther side of cancer, they add. Of course the hard data says otherwise.
The Junior Doctors serve an apprenticeship for an average of 8 or 9 years starting aged 22-24. So the average junior doctor is in his or her late twenties on an average salary of £35,000. Put another way they are better paid that 79% of the population - source HERE. Compared to their age group peers they are doing even better. And then once you qualify the real gravy train kicks in.

I refer at the start to my other podcast today on why the striking Junior Doctors are lying, greedy, bastards. You can listen to that HERE. Onto shares and I start with the madness of the 88 Energy (88E) share price today on a risk reward basis. Then it is onto Hornby (HRN), Renold (RNO), Global Invacom (GINV), Wandisco (WAND), Leed Resources (LDP), Golden Saint Resources (GSR), Fusionex (FXI) - target price 0p - Phorm (PHRM) and finally I ask all of you a question about Imaginatik (IMTK).

After six months training you are qualified to be a bolshie, greedy bastard who makes life a misery for poor people, that is to say a train driver on the London Underground. And the wankers are having another strike on August 5.
A driver's starting salary - which follows about six months of training - is £49,673, according to Transport for London (TfL), which adds that this "doesn't alter depending on length of time in role". They typically work a 36-hour week and get 43 days of leave every year, including bank holidays. Six of the days off are compensation for working 36, rather than 35, hours a week throughout the year. The UK average household income is £26,000 and most of us get about 30 days leave including bank holidays.
Now the bastards are up in arms
