This Twitter thread comes from the US and the US residential market is very different from our own. If you have a spare $42.500, you can buy a perfectly nice 3 bedroom house with a garden and off street parking in Alliance Ohio, the small rust belt town where my friend, the late, Bill Long grew up. It is a post industrial sort of place in decline. In Manhattan, that same cash buys you a share of an apartment just big enough to rest a waste paper basket. America is so many local markets but the craziness you see there and the oddities, notably the lack of stock for sale and the craziness of buyers, is apparent in the UK too. Supporters of the SNP might consider point 10 carefully!

Each time you have a new chancellor you soon find yourself thinking that the one before who, hitherto you had viewed as the biggest poltroon ever to hold up a red box, was in fact a towering genius. Thus I am beginning to think that Osborne - who was utterly hopeless was a giant compared to Hammond. On how to try to buy the votes of young people with taxpayers cash yesterday he was awful. His thinking about the housing market is wrong from start to finish.

I go through the timeline in detail. It is quite clear that the 31 July placing by MySquar (MYSQ) was securities fraud. Why the Nomad and broker have not quit in light of the trading statement today defies belief. But I guess this is the World's Most Successful Growth Market. I then look at Character Group (CCT) and why I think that the reaction to today's statement is overdone. Then it is onto UK Oil & Gas and I explain why its shareholder list and market cap pose a problem as it urgently tries to do a placing to keep the lights on after yesterday's dire news. Finally I urge you all to read today's statement from Countryside Properties (CSP) which tells you in black and white how much trouble the housing market is in.

It is a day for being angry. I mention in this podcast my anger at the way AIM CEOs are rewarded for failure as part of a system that just screws ordinary investors and that can be listened to HERE. In my personal postcard I look at how our politicians lie about the problems at the bottom end of the housing market and refuse to tackle them because they simply will not admit to the truth.
