I gather that there were a some FT and Guardian journalists in the roolm as I gave a talk at the Offshore Alert fraud conference today and so I made a point of making a few points about how corrupt and useless the deadwood press was. It was just too good an opportunity to miss.
I did not have any slides and my notes were scribbled on three post-its. i am conscious that my shirt was a bit unironed so I kept my jacket on and prattled away for 45 minutes plus questions. You know what? Folks seemed to really like it..heck they even laughed at my jokes and now they know all about Roland "fatty" Cornish, Cloudtag, African Potash and much more.
And I am knackered. The room was warm so I sweated a bit but it is really just the mental exhaustion of speaking for 45 minutes with just a skeletal plan of what you are going to say. It does not come over as rehearesed but its my style. A good day's work but i am now utterly wiped out. It is, after all, almost ouzo O'Clock and it is the first Christmas party of the year, mine.
