The millennials, on the coasts at least, are up in arms calling for and end to the rights of Americans to own firearms. Mistakenly they think that repealing the 2nd Amendment so that honest folks hand in their guns allowing criminals and nutjobs, who won't, to shoot at will, is going to make America safer. Whatever. But at least they should be consistent.
Every day in America 9 folks are killed by drivers o0f cars who have been distracted, in almost all cases by the fact that they were using a cellphone while driving. And guess what, the vast majority of these mobile phone car killers are under 30. According to the US Department of Transport In 2015 alone, 3,477 people were killed, and 391,000 were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers.
Okay snowflakes you try banning guns to prevent mass shootings ( which kill c500 a year) how about you agree to raise the age of driving and mobile phone ownership to 30. What say you? It's all about saving lives isn't it?
I am, of course joking. I'd ban nothing because I am a libertarian but if folks cause death or injury while driving & texting I'd throw the book at them. I am consistent. It is the snowflakes who, not for the first time, appear to have a bit of a double standard on this matter?
For what it is worth most gun deaths in the US are suicide. In countries where guns are banned folks kill themselves in different ways. There are c 11,000 homicides each year by gun and 71,000 gun related injuries. So the texting car drivers cause far more injuries and a third as many deaths. So c'mon snowflakes how a bit of consistency from you?
